The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Cronulla should sell Shark Park to Developers. Council will let them use the funds to build a new stadium at the home ground of one of the Junior Clubs. Should be able to build something like one of the Super League stadiums for the money they would get.

    The Las Vegas Thread

Rather than an nrlw game they should have the woman's WCC. Cheaper for the NRL & likely to be more competitive then a test match

The continuing Suncorp business will likely use GIO or AAMI if they continue the sponsorship

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

A pipedream, but if the NRL was to own/invest in a stadium. I would like it to be similar to the Dunedin Stadium, built at Wentworth Park would fill a gap in the type of stadiums available in Sydney. Close enough to the City that the NRL could move its offices there. And by being indoor could...

The Game 2024 Draw - venues, home game allocations etc

Quote from their website The venues for two Dolphins home games – against the Sea Eagles on Thursday May 9 and the Raiders on Saturday June 1 – remain to be confirmed, due to the finalisation of dates for weekend track works on the Queensland Rail network. One of these two games will be at...

    The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

If continuing with the nrlw on grand final day. It would be great if at one of the ends. They segregate it from the rest of the stadium. Then you could sell separate tickets for the State Cup, NRLW & NRL.

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

PNG only works if they are based in Port Moresby. Maybe if a gated community was built for the players and they don't have to pay tax it would be viable

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

The Club's/NRL should be able to make plenty from selling travel packages. Brisbane are promoting a one week trip for $6k. If a success, hopefully it encourages Clubs to use away games as a way to make money through travel packages. Have heard the big Super League clubs do quite well out of...

Canterbury Leagues own the land. From memory the plans are very similar to the Oasis ones.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Hopefully they speak to Manly & find out how they managed to use their COE to get a new stand. The other consideration would be if the Council doesn't want investment in it as a Stadium and want it to be a park/training ground.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

It's not realistic to think that Sydney only needs three stadiums. Assuming Souths go back to Allianz. It makes early in the season very congested with Roosters, Waratahs & Sydney FC games. Plus trying to avoid having games at the same time as the Swans are playing. CommBank could probably...

    RLWC 2025

I know this is the boring option. But financially it may be best to say to the NSW & QLD Government that the higher bider of the two gets exclusive rights

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Not sure how Venues NSW are going to sell putting a roof on at Homebush. Hopefully a change of leadership causes the idea to go away. The longer it goes without having any money spent on it, the better the chances are of a knockdown and rebuild. If they really want to help the AFL they can put...

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

It's hard to tell from the article/pictures it the field the main one or the one behind the hill? Hopefully it's the main field creating some extra seating on game day.

    18th club, whose next?

If there has to be a Pasifika Team, I think it works best as a second Auckland Team. Would have the potential for Australian & NZ government funding, but still has the potential to survive if the funding stops.

The slightly easier options are Cronulla & Redcliffe or the Bulldogs at Liverpool.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

If the NSW Government agreed to pay $15m a year for ten years to host the Grand final. The Nrl could then borrow against that to get $150m up front to invest. But not sure how the Nrl, Clubs, Governments and Councils could ever agree in a way for the NRL to invest.

    NRL crushes ratings record!!!

I'd like to see Foxtel exit the Watch NRL partnership. Then use it as a base to drop Sky in the UK and go direct to consumer. If that works, then do the same in NZ.

Divided rugby league fell 25 years ago – but united has it conquered? by Steve Mascord.

I think both the Bulldogs & Sharks are well down the track. Plan for the Bulldogs is an extension out the back of the Stand at Belmore. Sharks plans may have changed as they didn't end up getting the funding they were expecting. It was going to be at Shark Park, have seen comments that they are...
