    NRL Rd 23 2025 - General Non-Warriors Thread

I watched the first half of that Storm v Brisbane. The Storm have been inconsistent, but the sharpness of the attack through the middle and the pace of their backs in that game! I reckon, engrave their name on the trophy now. Warriors cannot match that skill and pace. Brisbane went with them...

    Team v Bulldogs

I watched that game. The inconsistency between Tigers player and Crichton was ridiculous. The fact that Crichton didnt get cited is complete bullshit. Injuries are absolutely smashing us! Disappointing. Laban's is disappointing.

    And we play them

    The run to the finals

Well, quick look at the table and draw for next week. We are going to go from sitting pretty in 4th, to 7th in one weekend. Not unless we can pull off a major upset and beat the bulldogs. Crichton could be gone/should be gone, but I think they will be very fired up after losing to the Tigers...

    The run to the finals

How quick we forget our doom and doom preseason expectations. But really, we should be there and about every year.

    The run to the finals

The problem I had, foolishly, was I started to get confident. I thought we would beat the Titans last weekend. Para are suddenly playing well, we have to play Titans at their home. Bulldogs will beat us, Dolphins are actually TAB favourites this weekend. Dragons could do anything but are out of...

Biggest brand in NZ sports - NZ Herald article

My work place is 50 people. 20-25 years ago, 15-20 would attend a Super Rugby match on Friday, there was a picking comp and the firm held 8 season tickets to take clients to matches etc. Now, all but maybe 1 or 2 would ever go. No picking comp, no season tickets (nobody wanted to go), no...

TT at fullback and CNK in centres, actually sounds a little exciting? Presume he is on DWZ's side? Lussick to cover Healy at hooker.

    Team v Dolphins

Yep....the season was great while it lasted. Hanging onto the 8 from here will be an achievement....but look Warriors can sometimes go well when unexpected.

Biggest brand in NZ sports - NZ Herald article

I'm not saying its happened yet. But the level of growth says that you can dream of it. Look, I think 'generational' change occurs quickly now. And what I see is that the 'core' of rugby playing populations are all indoctrinated into rugby at school. But the younger generations are not going on...

Biggest brand in NZ sports - NZ Herald article

I would never have dreamed of the Warriors completing with the All Blacks for NZ's premium sports team. They are certainly not yet there and I think a few premierships would be a pre-requisite for that. But such has been the rise in interest, I can now dream it and see it as a possibility.

    3-2-1 v Titans

Other thing that was very obvious against the Titans, was that they won the collision. All season (well games we've won), we have seen warriors defences hit and push back attacking runners taking momentum out of the attack. There was virtually none of that on Sat. Leka was energetic in defence I...

    3-2-1 v Titans

3 Roger 2 CNK - both him and Roger made errors but probably from fatigue at carrying everyone else 1. Clark Capewell and DWZ were defenisively bad. To be fair, DWZ did do some pretty strong hard runs. That result, probably ends our top 4 aspirations. Penriff are now coming to get us. I can't...

    3-2-1 v Knights

Re the Ford debate, nobody is saying (I don't think) that Ford is a superstar. He's doing a job and thats it. No outstanding games (except maybe one here and there) and an occasional crap one. The main stat, Warriors currently sit in 4th and who picked that at the start of the season? As far as...

    Team v Titans

Capewell was ordinary last year and looked slow, because he was injured most of the year. Early this year he has been great. If he is injured now and playing, do we get the ordinary version?

    3-2-1 v Knights

For me the issue is that if we are relying on one half to direct our attack, then we are by definition, one dimensional. We have built our game this year on completions, field position and defence. We have not scored a lot of points and sometimes struggle to break down defences. Last year, it...

    3-2-1 v Knights

Other than those critical kicks, Boyd's general kicking was really good. Man, he was getting some distance. If the game plan was to kick to the corners and play for field position (which I think it was), he did his bit. But CHT went completely missing in attack and it was pretty much all Boyd...

    F.O. Dallin...

DWZ's attack is OK. He does some good hard runs. Yep he dropped that ball at the start and then the PTB error. Shit happens. As we all know, its his defence. Has he lost all confidence? Every side must just plan to run that way and it will work! Easily!

    Warriors 2025 Draw

When I first saw the draw back in Nov last year, I thought it looked ridiculously favourable to the Warriors. We are now 8 games from the end of the regular season. We are sitting 4 points clear of the 5th place challenger, (Penriff are coming I know). But look who we have left to play...

    Team v Raiders

Personally, unless DWZ sorts his defensive Shit, I'd rather have Capewell covering as much as possible. He showed last week he can cover. Canberra's outside backs are lightening. If DWZ gives them the space, Capewell or even superman aren't gunna cut it.
