The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

I think a couple elevated temp stands North end either side of the scoreboard behind the fanzone would be the perfect solution. Bonus points if a permanent south stand is built with a roof. Plus maybe a big game at Eden park once the Warriors bar is up and running.

    2024 Crowd Watch

If all teams threaten to leave unless it gets rectangularised then it may help. If the government is staring down the barrel of an 83k stadium with no full time tenants then they may take action. If Bulldogs plan ever starts to take shape then it’s a very real possibility. I do like the idea of...

6037 average when they got the spoon. There was a bit going on that year.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

I think 60k would probably be about the right size for Auckland for All-Blacks & big concerts. 50k would probably be better for the Warriors but if they actually build it with the “club mode” to curtain off stands it could work for everyone. Side note the A-League club owner wants a 20k...

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Yeh agree with this, the fancy roof I could take or leave as long as it covers most/all seats, but the stands look a bit weird in every shot I’ve seen. A bigger QCB with one tier at the bay end giving the island view.

    PNG's back.

Vipers still keen to join NSW cup. Waiting from approval from PNGRFL, have had some discussions with NSWRL.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

As someone with zero to f**k-all knowledge of Auckland, the Quay Park one looks the best? Looks expensive too though, if they can reign in the design a bit maybe it won’t be so bad. - City location so not far from bars/restaurants. - Next to existing indoor Arena so a chance to create a “sports...

Auckland stadium: Downtown, Waterfront or Eden Park? Deadline looming for main stadium decision A decision on the best future option for Auckland’s main stadium will be made next month. It was originally due to be earlier but the timetable has been revised, due to further due diligence being...

Might be an idea for Cowboys & Dolphins games, maybe Titans.

    2024 Crowd Watch

As @yakstorm said significant improvements on their last fixtures against Bulldogs and 6pm Friday. Melbourne will be 4/5 20k+ for their first 5 homes games which has definitely never happened before. I’d be surprised if they’ve gotten 4 20k+ crowds in a regular season before tbh, maybe last year...

    2024 Crowd Watch

Anything Broncos could do to convert sell outs for the bigger games to crowds closer to 50k? Is the difference just member no shows? Great crowds either way, Broncos on their way to their best season for crowds this century, 2nd best ever season is doable.

In that video at 2:23 it says “Roar A-League Men’s and women’s venue”. Roar have taken a game there I see, still most at Suncorp but could become more with a decent upgrade.

I missed Ballymore on there. This video says Reds & Roar venue in it interestingly.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Fair enough. Either way hopefully they keep the temp seats there and Sunny Coast once it’s done.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Says “football preliminaries” for Cairns, Townsville, SC & GC so I assumed that meant pool games? All or most of the finals will be Suncorp.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Privately owned so same situation as Cronulla, plus I doubt QLD government wants to spend on it if it means Suncorp’s second biggest tenant taking more games away. I’d say a 20-25k stadium somewhere central like Perry Park would be more likely, Roar and Reds could play there. Maybe Victoria...

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Sunshine Coast stadium will be 20k for the games, 8K of that will be temp seats. So 2 6k stands I’m guessing. Likewise Cairns gets a permanent 5k stand with temp seating for another 10k. Other venues listed are Cbus & QCB.

    2024 Crowd Watch

I noticed recently when you go to the Storm’s membership page it has the end bays of the top tier as GA, but ticketek sell them as bronze.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Yeh that was conditional on the Homebush money being spent across suburban grounds which didn’t happen. Mind you the Government obviously knows unless the GF price skyrockets it will just be cheaper to keep buying it every year. An expanded Suncorp and a QLD Government keen to secure big events...

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Best case is probably if it stays as is for now, no roof. Then wait and see what happens with government and other stadiums and try another big push for it in 5-10 years.
