    New South Wales 2016

Really? This is what the coach has told him? Hard to believe that all his missed tackles can be accounted from those two facets. I have seen him miss a number of tackles that weren't from either of these scenarios. Seems Bryce himself is aware of his issues in defence with this quote recently...

    New South Wales 2016

The big league had both Bryce and Josh equal 5th missed tackles after 5 rounds behind Maloney, hunt, Robson and Moses. not a great stat for either especially considering the likes of Thurston weren't listed in the top 8.

    New South Wales 2016

Josh Jackson and Bryce Cartwright are 2 of the worst defenders in the NRL. Neither should be in the Origin team this year, Cartwright is one for the future, at least he is an excellent attacker.

    New South Wales 2016

So picking poor defenders is a better way to prevent the best attacking players destroying us? You are partially right we didn't win last year with a more defensive oriented team but we won in 2014. The first game last year was decided by a point. Picking poor defenders is a great way to combat...

    New South Wales 2016

Sorry, Bryce Cartwright needs more time. Origin is won on defence. Yes, Cartwright is a rare attacking player although given he is third in the missed tackle count with Mitchell Moses there should be alarm bells. Maybe in a a couple of years when his defence improves.

    National junior championship

Kbw, mate it might be better if you put in the full quote of what I said or at least all the quote that related to my comments on Lussick. Read it properly champ. I rate Lussick. the paragraph you quoted was actually originally posted by Nifty on another thread. Nifty originally wrote the...

Parramatta Eels Holden Cup & Junior Reps Thread Part III

Like Travis Turnbull (Queensland), Ethan Parry (Tamworth) or Josh Alioai (NZ)? They are all brought in as 15/16 year olds to get the development at a club with the resources and infrastructure. the days of players coming from the bush at 21 and playing grade are well gone. Under the new...

Parramatta Eels Holden Cup & Junior Reps Thread Part III

It's all too simplistic. In reality our junior rep coaches are supplemented by the likes of Cayless, Burt etc In roles for parramatta. Many other coaches are ex players for clubs. Unlikely they will just jump on the NRL development express for a pie and a coke. Sourcing new coaches will be...

Possibly, where would they train? At the current clubs? Then why change the system?

Parramatta Eels Holden Cup & Junior Reps Thread Part III

Don't mind a draft although can't see how the NRL will run junior development. They don't have the personnel or infrastructure to accomodate it. The ARU have proven it is fraught with danger their Gold Cup for 15s and 17s. It is a joke of a competition relying on volunteers to coach and manage...

The under-20s competition is set to be scrapped at the end of next season THE under-20s National Youth League Holden Cup competition could be scrapped at the end of next season with it’s future to be discussed at a meeting of club chief executives next week. The financial stress and weekly...

    National junior championship

Give it a rest Nifty aka footy mad aka Mrs Taylor. People come onto these forums for well rounded discussions about footy, not parents who continually push their sons cause. Then attack those that oppose your views. Trbojevic and Lussick were part of Daleys U20s Origin Pathways camp just a few...

    Junior Test match

Think you are being harsh on Connor. Saw last game and putting 50 on a decent dragons side was very impressive. Given he scored 3 and I think all the other outside backs also crossed suggests he knows when to pass and when to run. Mitchell will more than likely be pushing first grade next year...

    2020 Kangaroos

While not really interstate. The Sunday Footy show named their 2020 Kangaroos. Ages are in brackets for player in 2020. 1. Matt Moylan (28) 2. Alex Johnston (25) 3. Dylan Walker (25) 4. James Roberts (27) 5. Daniel Topou (28) 6. Anthony Milford (25) 7. Daly Cherry-Evans (31) 8. David Klemmer...

    Junior Test match

Taylor definitely proved his worth at 7 except for one miss for the first NZ try he was excellent. Thought Hastings went better at 9 than 1. Holmes should definitely been given the nod originally at FB. In saying that he had greater influence on the wing, his attempt on the NZ winger for their...
