    Woods swap for Tuitavake

The current players are St George Illawarra, St George has been consigned to history, just ask the NRL, they credit us with 1 premiership. Gordon tallis makes a point to remind every one he never played for St George Illawarra

    Woods swap for Tuitavake

"This once great club", this statement is false, winning 1 premiership in 24 years does not make for a great club. A restructure of an average club is well overdue.

    Junior Amone

People who are questioning the clubs culture are way off the mark, this involved his father, disgraceful

Dragons considering dropping “Illawarra” from their name

Illawarra were well represented in some great Saints sides, Langlands, Johnson, Goodwin, Morris, Jansen, Trudgett, Walsh etc. Why would this stop if Illawarra was dropped from the name?

Dragons considering dropping “Illawarra” from their name

Given that Illawarra is no longer a financial partner , St George Dragons works for me. Everyone identifies the club with the great Saints history, why not make it official? I have no problem with them playing out of Wollongong. The fact is if we revert back to St George, then 15 premierships...

    New centre of excellence

They are the Illawarra Dragons, mediocre from day 1. St George on the other hand won 15 Grand Finals. Why leave the area that made the Saints famous?

    RYAN WEBB...Gone Missing ????

I dont get why people keep comparing us to St George, "this once great club" , we are more Steelers than Saints, quite obvious when you look at the history, 1 premiership & years of no finals football, the days of being a powerhouse disappeared when we sold our history in 1999.

That’s why I said JV, if you must split hairs, I do think it’s quite irrelevant to the amount of premierships that St George Illawarra have won

Funny thing is , St George Illawarra & Wests Tigers have won the same amount of premierships, unfortunately it is not 16 each.

According to your criteria that is exactly where you have no leg to stand on. Point out the difference between the 16 premierships that your saying the JV of St George Illawarra have won & why the JV of Wests Tigers have not won 16

On the basis of your view, Wests Tigers equal our premierships, agreed.

The other side to the argument is that the Wests Tigers have won the same amount of premierships as us, Balmain 11, Wests 4, Wests Tigers 1, we know that is not right, you can't have it both ways.

My point has been when i said to a Souths supporter that Saints Have won as many GFs as Souths, he pointed out that is correct, 15 each, but you guys will never catch us now as you are forever on 15, unless the JV wins 15 in a hurry, he is in fact right. I just can't believe that this point was...

You're back? As i said, just don't look at the post, when you say we, you speak for everyone on this forum? Wow! I won't take your advice, I can reply as often as I like, as for you , Im surprised that i actually have to point out the fact again that if it bothers you so much, just look away...

No doubt the 100 anniversary was a huge disappointment, my belief is if we were still St George not St George Illawarra, it would have been better celebrated .

Yes , it was the intent of the JV, just not the intent of the NRL that doesn't recognise the 15 premierships

    So Illawarra is dead right?

Once again, you can create any belief you like, fact, St George no longer plays in the the premier Rugby League competition in Australia & therefore its history stopped in 1998 & a new one started in 1999 with Illawarra, cant be that hard can it?

We may have well stayed with Illawarra as JV financial partner seeing WIN seem to contribute as much as the broke Steelers did, we are rapidly losing our identity, no wonder the question was raised in the media, who are the Dragons?
