how ive learnt to hate the storm

Hazy, you're living in cloud cuckoo land if you believe a strong ARL and domestic Aussie comp relates to global expansion. Most Aussies couldn't give a sh"t about international RL, some are even proud to admit it. You'd never get a British RL fan suffering from such a parhochial attitude. The...

RLWC 2000 profits scuppered by ARL/NRL

Aussies acting in a proper manner? Now that's a unique thought. If these allegations are true, what could the RFL do? Afterall, it is they who have beenuniversally blamed for the losses incurred and the subsequent hardships in several lesser RL nations.

SL PLAY-OFFS - Not for us

From Sporting Life. Neil Kelly, Super League Coach of the Month after guiding newly-promoted Widnes Vikings into the top half of the table, believes a play-off spot could damage his club's long-term future. The Vikings slipped to seventh place after last Saturday's home defeat by Wigan but...

    League on a new High

I agree with Willow. PPV isn't killing the game, in the same way that TV coverage never hurt the game. PPV has had no effect on crowds on the English Premier League, if anything it could help drive the popularity of the sport.

how ive learnt to hate the storm

That's simple, blame all our present ills on the ARL v SL war. You wanted a national comp, but were unwilling to pay the price, ie, fewer Sydney based clubs. How the hell would international expansion be any better without SL? Isn't the lack of expansion largely the fault of the Aussies?

    best song ever written?

There is a difference. IMO, today's music doesn't shock the majority of 40 somethings, they have the feeling of been there done that got the tee-shirt when it comes to listening to today's non-mainstream sounds. I'd be pleasently surprised to hear something that was unique, that didn't sound...

I'm beggining to think that the youth of Oz and NZ are as bland in their musical taste as those from some US midwestern state like Nebraska or Minnesota. Is TripleM the Oz equivelent of Virgin Radio?

Sale RU - gone in three years?

Leicester do pull in good crowds. However, they are only currently at number one in the UK for Rugby crowds for a short while. Once the Bulls can get out of Valley Parade and back to Odsal they will get back over the 15,000 mark. Leeds Rhinos have had two poor years, if they were top of the SL...

Sale RU - gone in three years?

I'm sure the atmosphere is electric as far as American sports go, but the lack of a roofwould spoil it for me. I've been in a 100,000 plus crowd when Wigan played Halifax at Wembley back in 1988. 40,000+ Wigan fans in their cherry and white colours at one end and almost the same number...
