    Zac Lomax

The whole Lomax situation has been volatile right from the outset. I wouldn't be surprised if this goes all the way to the cooling off period.

    Flanno's New Signings

Panthers going after Stefano Utoikamanu to replace JFH. Apparently Stefano has some fancy release clause that can be activated if the Tigers don't make the finals. This also puts a spanner in the works with our potential recruitment of Turuva. Going by our past history, I'm going to put the red...

    Zac Lomax

I find it interesting at how Parramatta have been able to go ahead and sign Zac in a virtual 'no contest' from any other club, especially given that the Roosters are losing Manu & Suali'i at the end of the season.

    Zac Lomax

Despite him not being officially signed (and keep in mind there is a lot to play out especially with the Roosters losing Manu & Suali at the end of this season), Parramatta fans are of the mindset that Zac is going to deliver them to the promised land/ Signing Moses mid-2017 was supposed to be...

    R5 Knights.

All I will say is we lack a lot of footy smarts when under pressure and behind on the scoreboard. Grubbers through the puddles (what worked for the Knights first half) vs going to the high ball (which the Knights backs easily defuse every time if we even get the kick away). Frustrating game at...

Benji also has big wraps on Latu Fainu as well, who will get his debut off the bench for the Tigers this week. I agree - they would be stupid to get Galvin go. But I'm sure other clubs will be monitoring this situation.

    Zac Lomax

I think this is an extremely smart move from the club. Actually - let's not heap praise too much. It's more just lucky that Ben Haran & Ian Millward actually have some Rugby League nous in Flanno to help with these decisions now, otherwise some of the recent 'problems' (Hunt wanting out and...

    Manly in the gong.

Loved the defensive effort and how the boys backed each other while under pressure. That's the way you snap out of a poor patch of form and build character that you can take into future games. Tom Eisenhuth is a very handy signing. Attack - I felt we were very erratic. While I haven't gone...

KOE (ex Canterbury Cup) and Jersey Flegg

Tuipulotu, V Fifita, T Coachman - give me a little bit of confidence that we have some depth there if players up top need to be dropped. The rest of the reserves need to keep grinding away. Wins on the board and lighting up the individual stats sheets will only help their cause.

    Zac Lomax

There really is not much point in delaying the inevitable for too much longer. Zac & Rava need to be our right side wing three quarter combo, and Jack goes back to the bench as a edge replacement or lock playing in the middle rotation (but even then I'd like to see RFM given some more time in...

    Sack Flanagan

As per discussions across various other threads. The one thing not on Flanno's side either at the moment is the lack of quality talent available on the open market. One of the things that will need to happen, and what will ultimately be another point of judgement as to whether he is...

    Manly in the gong.

The team list is just about there, and barring a couple of positional changes is just about near the same 17 as what I named last night. All players on deck. Flanno did say that he was going to run with the Lomax/Bird wing/three-quarter experiment for the first four weeks. Basically, Bird...

    Manly in the gong.

OT first: Nathan Cleary out for 4-6 weeks Mitchell Moses out for 6-12 weeks Titans have lost big Tino for the season Broncos going to be missing Walsh for a while, and a fitness cloud over Reynolds Souths massively unsettled Among other dramas across several other clubs We have Liddle...

    R3 v Cowboys

I was distracted by the F1 all weekend (glad to see a result that the sport desperately needed), and didn't intently watch the game. But will attempt to summarise. The ugly - 42 unanswered points in the space of 40mins of gameplay... that is just unacceptable, but better its happening in round...

    Sack Flanagan

Flanno will be judged by his ability to bounce the squad back after defeats like this (this will be the first of several) and keep us grounded after our wins (of which we will also have more similar to last week). There will also be a judgement on the recruitment, retention and internal...

    R2 v Dolphins.

Certainly not going to defend the indefensible (not sure if pun intended or not). Unacceptable that level of defeat. As mentioned a couple of times - Luc should be making his way back through NSW Cup. His fitness is not at the same level as the rest of the team (understandable without a full...

    R2 v Dolphins.

Tough calls - but I'd be very happy to stick loyal to the squad that got the job done last week, with only the exception of Lawrie for BMM. Luc & Sele need to work their way back through NSW Cup, especially if they have had limited training.

    Zac Lomax

It genuinely looks like we may have a second full back out on the field. As the season goes on, there will be more freedom for him to roam and play through the middle of the field. Zac getting his hands on the ball more often can only be a good thing for the team !

    R1 v Titans.

I'm emotional. I will sleep in my Red V tonight ! We have a lot of work still to do. Some of the errors we made - the top teams will eat us alive. But, we have a team that won't give up the fight when backs are against the wall. A lot has been done over the past six months to instil pride back...

    Welcome Back Luciano

In all honesty - even after the suspension I feel he should come back via NSW Cup. Not just to get his fitness in order, but I feel the starting 1-13 we went with during the trials deserves a chance in the first month of the regular season.
