90s or 00s which generation was better?

The players right now are twice the athletes they have ever been. I like the 90's for nostalgic reasons but the quality of football was better in the 00's compared to the 90's. The rule changes of this decade like shoulder charge ban, and the punch rule coupled with the low risk coaching and...

Where will the Brisbane Broncos finish in 2019?

I think 5th or 6th. possibly higher if they can get their kicking game together.

Round 3 vs. Titans Discussion + Voting

Was a good defencive effort and will hopefully give the young guys confidence going forward but I do feel it told us more about the Tits impotent attack then our defence most other teams i.e. Storm, dragons etc would have put 100 on with that much ball. So still plenty of room for improvement...

Round 1 vs. Cowboys Discussion + Voting

I hate to admit it but this is one of my concerns too Beale has been found out a few times defending at centre and Gagai's defence at NRL level is an unknown.

    Anyone here get into MMA?

I had Kampmann for the 1st round easily and would of got the 2nd but he lost his way when he got cut and Sanchez wobbled him. The last round was clearly Sanchez IMO. In saying that if it went the other way I wouldn't have been to bothered by the decsion, great fight. Bowles looks good aswell...

    Replacement for Inglis?

I'd like to see them go for another prop was thinking that pommy captain james Graham would be good and a realistic option. But I'd have to agree with above if they could get Cam Smith or Thurston that would be the ultimate.Pretty unlikly IMO though.

Who will finish higher in 2011 - Bunnies or Broncos?

 Mate if this was EPL the bunnies would have been relegated along time ago and playing Reggies against Wentworthville where they belong. Losing Inglis is a blessing in disguise for the Broncs IMO. some of the U20s out side backs coming through are very good and come at amuch cheaper price...

    Gus's idea....Poms in NRL

I think the U20s idea has merit and could work. I also think inviting some players down for the off season would help aswell.

    Lockyer’s replacement

I've always thought highly of Berrick and it would be nice to have him on our roster but I think he would be asking too much, similar to Quade Coopers price I'd guess. I think we have enough in the havles in Norman, Hunt, Wallace and the U20's HB to cover Lockyers depature, but Bennet said when...

RL independence day arrives - NRL Independent Commission announced for November 1

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Frank Lowy the Chairman of the FFA (i.e. soccer)

    Dane Gagai

Yep I think it will be Gagai and Yow Yeh permanently on the wings by mid 2011.

Who would you rather have at your club?Jamie Soward or Mitchell Pearce..

To answer the OP. At the Broncos we have a pretty handy 5/8 so I'd go Pearce to fill our HB spot but I'm still sceptical on wether Pearce can handle the High pressure matches I'm yet to see proof he's a big game player.

    Post season NRL

I use the offseason to get outside and do things, fishing, camping fix the house up, not much TV gets watched. Also gives me time to patch things up with the missus, being told "F$%k off the footballs on, I don't care if its your mothers birthday" and other things like that wears thin with her...

Australian 4 Nations Squad announced (#86)

Same could be said about Hannant in '09 he would of been first prop picked but look what injury has done to him can't even crack QLD let alone the Roos in 2010.Swings and round abouts mate Until Shillington, Scott, Rapira or Hannant do it for 3-5 consecutive years and come back from injury in...

    The TV rights thread

This I think its quite feasible to think that audiences would more than double if the games were shown in to Melbourne at say 8:30 or 9:30 instead of 1am. To assume any less would be underselling the NRL and its worth. What annoys me most is that they don't even have anything decent on instead...
