    That stadium has Waverley Park vibes - in the middle of a cow paddock with zero public transport options. Storm would be better taking trials to Bendigo, Ballarat or Geelong. If they want a rectangular ground Morwell has a 12k stadium ready to go.

    Suncorp upgrade is the right decision for Brisbane, cost is reasonable and of all the venue options it will continue to get the most use long term. A 70k seater Suncorp would also be a genuine contender for future NRL grand finals which might encourage the NSW government to get moving on Accor...

    $3.4b for a 50k stadium is insane, especially considering it’s effectively a greenfields build. $68k per plastic seat. If that’s the going rate no new stadium will ever be worth building in this country.

    Victoria is broke, they won't be going after the NRL GF anytime soon. The odd State of Origin at the MCG is a great spectacle, it's fun to attend but nobody is getting a good view of the game.

    Possibly, but if it’s a regular fixture fans might work it into a longer USA trip. For the locals I don’t know, guess you have to start somewhere and build, 40k isn’t a bad starting point.
