Hypothetical - creating a Pro RL comp

Don't know about you but I'd consider Vancouver to be pretty Canadian ;) unless u4er meant doubling up on Portland I guess. I do like the idea of breaking up the US as somewhere to target. There's no need to go all out on a national comp, it's like targeting Europe as a whole. Nobody would...

    Third Test (DECIDER!) - ENG v NZ (Sat 14th 1 PM GMT/Sun 15th 12AM AEST / 2AM NZDT)

Plus we don't really have much to compare with. Most sports are as small as us internationally with little choice, or are insanely corrupt.

    Third Test (DECIDER!) - ENG v NZ (Sat 14th 1 PM GMT/Sun 15th 12AM AEST / 2AM NZDT)

There are such things as objective errors too, not that I'm saying that Sutton made any here. Referees drift in and out of form, thrive more or less on the big stages - just like everyone else in every other job. I don't like the idea of exempting them from scrutiny - though I will concede that...

    Third Test (DECIDER!) - ENG v NZ (Sat 14th 1 PM GMT/Sun 15th 12AM AEST / 2AM NZDT)

If it's Sutton or Thaler it has to be Sutton, even though I rate Thaler as the better ref. Wish we'd been able to have another Aussie ref take the first test, then pick between them for the third but we have what we have. Hopefully the RLIF start making strides in increasing the referee pools...

    Second Test - ENG v NZ (Sat 7th 2:30PM GMT/Sun 8th 1:30AM AEST / 3:30AM NZDT)

Can't argue with that. Score kept down after Nikorima showed he was just as mediocre as Lolohea. Was there even a line break in the whole match? Yet England had absolutely nothing. Couldn't blame any newbies in London for not coming back after that bludger.

    Second Test - ENG v NZ (Sat 7th 2:30PM GMT/Sun 8th 1:30AM AEST / 3:30AM NZDT)

Let us never speak of that match again. Dreadful.

    RLIF Launches new Strategic Plan

If they mean the standard usage of the term, bilateral matches will presumably be set up/administered by the two organisations that engage in the match. Ie no overarching structure to the contest administered by the continental/world body. I'll have a proper read later, but they seem to have...

What if Jarryd Hayne doesn't make the 49ers cut? Will he return to the NRL?

He fumbled his first punt, it was a dodgy one that dipped sharply, he wasn't in the right position, went to catch it anyway and dropped it. His second, I think he tried for a fair catch quite late, didn't let his blocker know, his blocker took him out and the ball bounced off him. His...

England v New Zealand ** news & injury thread **

My bad, I meant beyond what's listed. There's no prop depth at all, you'd think there had to be some guys behind Burgess and Walmsley who'd deserve a call rather than stacking the squad with light back rowers. You've got Farrell, Bateman (probably as a centre) and Currie in there who'll be...

England v New Zealand ** news & injury thread **

http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/34499558 England are really, really light there. Must be a bunch of injuries to forwards?

First Details on RLWC '17 Pool Structure

You're still stuck in the situation where 1 team has pretty much no chance of qualifying from their group. If you select it with intent - ie Scotland because they're a fake team (or whatever), then you have a big problem of someone picking the team to have no chance, which seems rather corrupt...

    WCC news

When you put out incomplete rules, it's either intentional or incompetent.

    WCC news

Cant comment on Aussie Rules, as I couldn't care less about it. But it's completely clear you're right on them withholding the rules intentionally. Not sporting at all.

First Details on RLWC '17 Pool Structure

Can't see Samoa being happy under such a system. NZ bt Sam Fiji bt Sco Sam bt Fiji But then Fiji qualify? Yes the same problem exists in the current system, but it isn't quite as salient as when you have a 'Big 3'. Even worse for Scotland, who end up in the same position as PNG in...

Don't think you'll find many fans, or even administrators from SL, disagreeing.

England v New Zealand ** news & injury thread **

That's a really long way of saying no, you don't believe it. Lolohea is a great prospect, with a very good head on him and a strong running game, but as yet he has inconsistent passing, poor kicking, and little game sense. He isnt a half, not yet. Hopefully he proves me wrong in the...

England v New Zealand ** news & injury thread **

Do people genuinely believe this? Tomkins has performed well in the halves at international level. His only problem has been people putting false projections on him that he's some devastating runner and a try machine. Look at him, he's tiny. He's not one of those flash in the pan pure runners...

First Details on RLWC '17 Pool Structure

Happy with that, but hopefully our last World Cup with 14 teams. 16 is much fairer, and the group without the big 3 would be awesome to watch. But most importantly: good news!. It's nice to be able to say it.

England v New Zealand ** news & injury thread **

I'll freely admit I haven't seen anything really of Nikorima in the halves, can he distribute or kick? From what I've seen of Tuivasa-Sheck and Lolohea, the pair have been average at best in both of those departments. Looks like a lot of pressure on Isaac Luke. It will be interesting if the...

    Super 8's

It doesn't make sense here. People aren't going to watch semi-pro games for one; and clubs can probably make more money (short term at least) through gate receipts and some TV games rather than an oversaturated TV offering and lower gate receipts. At a guess. I presume (hope) that some...
