    Cowboys: real deal in 22?

One of the unsung heroes of the Cowboys this year is Hiku. I have no way of quantifying this but I believe his experience and defensive nous has been instrumental in plugging our leaky edges this year. Sure he's on the right edge with Feldt but no doubt in my mind he's in Holmes' ear on the...

    Cowboys: real deal in 22?

Benefit of hindsight, you might have a point. However.... coming into this season the overwhelming consensus among punters and commentators was that the Cowboys and Tigers would fight it out for the spoon. No one expected them to pick up early wins against the Raiders (twice) or even the...

    2022 R12 Fri - Penrith 22-0 North Qld @ BlueBet

I disagree, in fact one of our strengths this season has been less over reliance on Lolo than in previous seasons. Cotter, Gilbert, even Macca and Hess all seem willing to run the ball hard and fight for post-contact metres or a quick play-the-ball.

    2022 R12 Fri - Penrith 22-0 North Qld @ BlueBet

Cowboys defence has been impressive all year except the games vs Roosters and Warriors. Their spine players are also in great form and as we've seen over the last month, they've become a prolific try scoring team. A little bias showing here but I reckon the Cowboys will stifle the likes of...

The Game 2022 Jerseys, Sponsorship, Logos etc

I see about 3 or 4 different shades of yellow/gold on that jersey, with the various sponsors and logos. End of the day, Broncos colours are maroon and gold. Who gives a flying f*ck if there's a bit of old gold/rose gold / neon yellow highlighter on their training kit?

The Game 2022 Jerseys, Sponsorship, Logos etc

Blasphemy. Cowboys' colours are BLUE and GREY

    Welcome to the comp, Redcliffe.

My prediction is that both Redcliffe and Brisbane (Ipswich) Jets will be announced as the 17th and 18th teams in the comp. Question is, will Jets join in 2023 or 2024?

The Game 2022 Jerseys, Sponsorship, Logos etc

I quite like the new Wests Tigers logo. They've actually tweaked the head a bit too, not just removed the claws ...

The Game 2021 Jerseys, Sponsorship, Logos etc

Dragons kit today looks very nice. The hooped jersey, black shorts and socks... so good!

    NRL wants two conference comp

2 Conference Model for 2023 (based on 16 existing NRL teams plus 2x Expansion teams) 1) rank all 9 "Sydney" teams based on aggregate competition points from the 2021 and 2022 seasons. 2) rank all 7 remaining teams similarly. 3) allocate teams to PROVAN CONFERENCE as follows: * SYD teams 1, 3, 7...

NRL's growth mindset points to 18th team. And it ain't Perth.

You're missing the point, I'm not complaining about teams that have to hop on a flight every second week. Under the proposed conference system each Sydney team would play outside of Sydney only 4 or 5 times a year, every year. The lack of (air) travel gives them a clear advantage over teams in...

NRL's growth mindset points to 18th team. And it ain't Perth.

This is ridiculous. Sydney conference teams will have less travel than the other conference. This will mean that the Roosters, for example, will only play Melbourne in Melbourne once every 2 years. Whereas the Cowboys would play Melbourne twice a year, every year.

    Rumoured Signings

Morgan's shoulder injury was suffered last year wasn't it? So the Cows should get dispensation following his medical retirement...?

    Player unrest at the Cows?

As a Cowboys supporter I have been wondering heaps over the last month. We are defensively weak, especially on the edges, yet we have a great defensive centre named Paul Bowman on staff. Our halves aren't finishing sets with a good kick or last tackle option, but we have a legend like JT...

    News Michael Morgan announces retirement

Cowboys better hurry up and sign Reynolds now that they've freed up some coin.

    Rumoured Signings

Agreed, I think Cowboys are sweating on Morgo being medically retired to free up the coin to chase Reynolds. If we miss out on Reynolds, resign Drinkwater as a 6 and look for an organising half-back that isn't named Moses or Brooks.

Neither player is overrated, however you could definitely say that Macca has underperformed since leaving Melbourne.

    Rumoured Signings

I have faith in Payten to turn us around, he has swung the axe for this week and it'll be interesting to see how Hampton goes in the 7 and how Hess responds to being dropped to the bench (if he doesn't run hard and tackle everything that moves when he gets on the field, drop him altogether).
