    The Rumours Thread

Assuming our pathways continues to improve, we won't have this issue going forward. Penrith haven't really bought in for a couple of years now because their junior pool is so good. I think that is what we need to aim to do. Don't rely on the mercenaries from outside, promote and develop from...

Round 8 v Roosters Anzac Day

Agreed. I noticed that Rav had issues towards the back end of the Warriors game. Assumed it was just fatigue at the time but obviously something more.

That link that DD put up has Nu Brown as a loss to the Dragons and moving to Super League in 2024. Was just pointing out how hopeless they are at publishing the correct info. Not to mention they've still got Volkman listed as a gain and they are missing RFM from the gains section.

Nu Brown leaving already? Heading back to Super League after 1 game with us? :D

Unsure where you are getting this from. They are in there celebrating tries together in the games and Hunt's mentioned in interviews that Zac discusses a lot of things with him as they've been mates for a long time. Zac apparently discussed leaving the club with Ben. If they actually had...

As a coach, wouldn't you say that about any of your players who are coming up in Origin discussions?

I don't think you have read what I've actually written - or you've misinterpreted it. Bird is an adequate stop gap until we move forward with a better solution post Lomax. I can understand why he's in there - he's in the top 17 until someone else steps up and demands selection. Based on...

Round 7 v Warriors at WIN

There were a couple last year. Suli's against the Roosters was probably the most memorable one.

Spot on. He requested a release before the season started. We know this because Flanno had answered questions around it and said that they'd both agreed to wait until after a month into the season and then have another discussion. This tells me that Flanno didn't want to release him after the...

Round 7 v Warriors at WIN

The camaraderie is the standout for me. Seeing some of the new recruits like RFM and Sele grinning like Cheshire Cats through the whole game is just amazing. The whole team is just really enjoying playing with each other.

Round 7 v Warriors at WIN

We scored 30 points against the best defensive team in the comp.

Round 7 v Warriors at WIN

I haven't seen all of the half yet. But this is what I'm worried about. The Warriors are a big powerful team and that showed in the first 20 or so minutes. SJ is a special player as well so they will definitely come back. I just hope that we continue to push them.

So what does players like Molo and Su'a outwardly indicating they want to stay because they love it here say about the club? What does the about face with Hunt say? I mean there are more examples of players saying they want to stay (and current/former SOO players at that) that gives the...

    Sack Flanagan

The forum frustrates the shit out of me sometimes. It's hard to stay grounded after a win, but we have to be realistic, this isn't going to happen over night (as you've alluded to). Things are changing but unfortunately for us suffering fans we just have to be patient. Some of us have more of...

Well I can say for sure we aren't a wet weather team

Sharp ensuring Newcastle stays in front. Some of those calls were dubious to say the least. We don't help ourselves but Newcastle have had assistance.

That's a good point. Although I think there are obvious differences with this decision. I'd assume finding a good replacement for Hunt is far more difficult than finding a replacement for Lomax. Guessing there's probably a higher confidence within the club of finding an adequate winger at...

I don't believe he will either, but I think the idea is exactly that. In the event he does, then we are in the box seat given we've ripped up the final 2 years. I suspect we probably wouldn't even entertain the idea tbh given the fuss he's kicked up last year and this year.

I believe he can talk to them, but can't actually sign until the end of the year (Or at least announce a new contract. I could be wrong here but that is what I've heard). It would be in his best interest to wait and see what offers come up while performing out of his skin this year to get a...

I mean I think it's a pretty good move from the club. In reality, if someone wants Zac now before the end of the year, they need to pony up a player/players for a swap that the club are happy to move forward with. Alternatively, Zac can't go until the end of the year - can't even sign or talk...
