    1908 Proud Traditional Merchandise

I don't usually post on this site anymore, but for you I've made an exception and for a few particular reasons. 1. I find it incredibly unlikely that you are licensed by the NRL of any of its 16 clubs to sell merchandise using their intellectual property, given the poor quality of product...

Aboriginal and Maori WC Saga Continues

Aboriginal yes, but any "Aboriginal" team at the World Cup is not based on race, no matter how much you or anyone else would like to believe that. I've said it a number of times, but people either dismiss it because it doesn't suit their flimsy beliefs, or they have failed to comprehend what...

Aboriginal and Maori WC Saga Continues

If we were to only include sovereign states then Wales, Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Cook Islands all miss out. Other nations such as Puerto Rico, New Caledonia, Niue, Tokelau, Bermuda, the West Indies, Taiwan and American Samoa would all also be ineligible. You don't appear to have...

    Metro League

It does sound like a good idea, even if it was run as a midweek tag comp, indoors, whatever is possible.

Telstra to pay MILLIONS for internet & mobile rights?

I hope the NRL realises that part of the reason that their internet rights will be worth less to Telstra than the AFL's is because Telstra produced a pathetic NRL website in the first place.

PNGRFL boss calls for PI team

I could not care any less for what union has or hasn't done. This is a good idea and it should be looked at. Screeny could be right in regards to timing and with the World Cup, but in the longterm it's something I believe we must go with. I believe that it is a very limited view that people...

PNGRFL boss calls for PI team

Sounds good to me. Playing PNG as part of the PI team is good because any profits would allow the member nations to afford to compete against each other for selection trials. It would also make PNG stronger for when they compete separately against Australia. I'd never support the idea if it was...

    Real Nasty Adrian Morley Article

True, but then they hide from their comments. Nobody is about to give a fan in the crowd an opportunity to publish their abuse, and in most cases they wouldn't even dare to.

    Real Nasty Adrian Morley Article

I doubt he would lose sleep over it, but you're kidding yourself if you think that players would be calling Morely a wife beater.

    Real Nasty Adrian Morley Article

There's no fear in that is there. It's a sad indictment of your intelligence and comprehension levels that you to defend such libelous "journalism" and think that kind of "humour" has a place anywhere, let alone in the print media. Not only is it in poor taste, but you don't seem to realise...

Souths keen to call Aussie home

Telstra stadium was a smart move and it has not had a negative impact on crowds. We're making a profit of 1 million there, opposed to losing 40k per game at Aussie. The game is central to the fanbase, it's easier to get to and has better facilities. I hope we never play at Aussie again. Besides...

    Ideas for a hybrid game.

I see nothing wrong with taking ideas from other sports, rugby league after all has taken several initiatives from American football. But realistically there's very little, if anything that can be gained from rugby union. The union code has taken much of its own initiatives from rugby league and...

    Cup Competition

I've always preferred the idea where eventually we would have 18 teams in the NRL, playing one full round, with none of those annoying repeat fixtures. 17 games in the regular NRL on top of a Challenge Cup played earlier in the season over 4-5 rounds and including PNG, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga.

    Today's Sun Herald

I pinched this New England map off a website and recoloured it to show the boundaries. This is pretty rough as the boundaries in some cases overlap with duel claims and areas that exist sometimes only as a buffer between larger nations. There's no real difference between Koori, Goori and...

    Today's Sun Herald

Just an idea, but the England/Great Britain nation definition debate is raised probably more than any other, so perhaps an earlier thread dealing with it and any other repetitive topics should be linked to a sticky thread.

Plenty will tell you they are descended from several tribes. Myself, I'm Bundjalung, but my background also includes Gumbaingerri and Yorta Yorta (along with my European side). If I visit either of those areas I'm accepted as having that heritage, but still as a Bundjalung person first. You're...

    Today's Sun Herald

I lived in Newcastle for 10 years and knew plenty of Awabikal people, those whose family roots come from there, not elsewhere. They are outnumbered, but I do think I'd have a better idea than you would. As for the colour of their skin, well that has no relevance whatsoever on their identifying...

    Today's Sun Herald

On the contrary, most Aboriginal kinship systems would not even allow for the grandparent rule to even be considered in its present form. It's just not applicable. A person's tribe is dictated by what their mothers was. It's not something that can be picked on a whim like nationality via the...
