    Flanno's New Signings

Ward has gone to the bunnies, couldn’t get a pre season with us!

Parra R 26 Now or Never.

Iam concerned we again have no back up half /outside back. I went to the game last week (whales jumping in the ocean were the highlight!) the whole attack plan was give it to hunt. The sharks knew this and put pressure on hunt so he didn’t have room. This in turn led to ineffective attack. Our...

KOE (ex Canterbury Cup) and Jersey Flegg

What are Ward’s stats like? He seems to be in the team most weeks and seems to be in the thick of try assists. His kicks in general play seem to be good on highlights but misses a few conversions. Have we signed him for next year or is he another junior half that hasn’t progressed as quick as...

    Dufty v Sloan

Sloan at least competes for a bomb. Unlike Dufty. He might have a few arm grabs but he does at least try to tackle instead of look for the intercept. His on line defence is suspect and defiantly needs more work, dufty was a bit more nuggety and closer to the ground with a few more seasons of...

    The Rumours Thread

Thinking a tactical change may be in the air. Flanno has been around a few clubs and commenting on others. Maybe he can see a change in how we can get mobile ball playing 2nd rowers setting a good platform for our solid centres and hopefully finished off with the limited? speed we have. Was...

    Flanno's New Signings

Lobster boy, always himself first! I do hear however that Flanno is personally interviewing young ens regarding contracts so maybe the red V ship is in good hands. The only light at the moment in view of the depressing silence of no signings.

    Junior Amone

Moving forward we need a consistent and organising five eight. We have the makings of future sucess through with an internal rebuild, coach potential with a bit of $ for some gaps. Amone has the makings based on previous junior games (last week was excellent by reports). Court withstanding...

Whilst I would be glad to see this happen.. this is the same msm that said ryles was signed sealed delivered, stomped all over dragons internal affairs for months and media blackout by the players union… mmmm

    Coaching preference for 2024

Flanagan knows our issues, is stubborn enough to stand up to our board and doesn’t want to be judged by his past maistakes all big ticks for me or bomber morris did alright as stand in head coach. BOTH are passionate about watching junior grades and being involved with the whole club, both...

    Sack Griffin

We also lost wishart and ford because of his poor communication and man management. Time will tell if this was good, but at the moment we let some good ones get away. Not sure regarding Garrick if it was in hooks time. poor communications don’t make a good head coach

    Coaching preference for 2024

How come if the board is so incompetent we haven’t had a leak of who the new coach is? (Creditable) Nobody on these or other forums is none the wiser. Do they know? Or have we collectively undersold the board? The great guessing games at the dragons continue. You would think with what has been...

    Coaching preference for 2024

’dickhead’ and not as smart as we would like are two different things. No problems with weeding out the ‘dh’s’ from the team but blokes that dont think on the football field may be turned around by different coaching structures.

    Coaching preference for 2024

Pretty optamistic with both candidates. They will BOTH want to be a successful head coach. They have the ‘smarts’ to stand up and do it their way. We have a much better choice then last time. ( Hook was probably the best choice we had in a smaller pond) Flanno for me. Could be an interesting ride

    Coaching preference for 2024

So now we are down to 2 candidates Des and Shane. Hasler Pros Can start straight away Has a good understanding of the modern game Negatives salary cap and roster management Not familiar with the dragons set up so learning curve may be slower Flanagan Pros knows the systems at dragons-familiar...

I would assume from Flanagan signing with his dad and manly, that Flanagan snr NOT COMING TO dragons?

2 WINS does not change anything about Hook. Still indifferent performances, still indifferent use of bench and swapping of starting line ups? Still talk of player unrest. Had his chance, time to go. More time same story. Move now before best candidates have contracts for 2024.

    Sack Griffin

From my memory Robson had a string of injuries and we thought we had enough cover. Sound familiar? It’s hard to keep everyone with talent and promise. It’s worth persisting with the younguns but they need patience, guidance and good coaching. NOT all of that rest on the head coach. It’s a...

Good welfare and education system we have running at the club. It’s just not the coach.

    Jayden Sullivan

Calm down and take a breath. Robson and Hutchinson had injuries as youngsters and we filled the roster and let them go. Stick with the youth and they will (eventually) come good! Lots of half’s and backs coming through, just have to work on forwards, skill development and conditioning. Looking...
