    Parramatta Eels email

Hi all, Does anyone have an email address for Parramatta, either Paul Osborne or the leagues club? Been asked to send wishes and a photo by my boss from our school. Their website comes up blank in the contact section. Thanks in advance.

    Fake Tony Greig Show

    Gallop's view on juniors

On the Footy Show, Gould suggested that a salary cap be used only for signing outside players - non-juniors. Meaning clubs can do whatever they like to keep players they've developed. Gallop's response... "Club's like Penrith have 10 thousand juniors and it wouldn't be fair on clubs like the...

Sydney: 4 contrived teams or 1 or 2 "super" clubs?

With all the talk about Sydney clubs etc... If Sydney clubs had to go what would you prefer? - 4 new teams (the often talked about option of mass-mergers) - 2 new teams (Sydney & West Sydney - no ties to old clubs, sort of two Broncos-ish clubs) -- I ask mainly because I think...

    25th anniversary of expansion

Today marks 25 years since the NSWRL voted to expand beyond Sydney. On the 13th of December 1980, the Illawarra Steelers were granted entry as the competition's 13th team. The league wanted another new club to keep numbers even. Newcastle, the logical option, surprisingly weren't interested...

Save the Steelers - Sunday Telegraph

Yesterday's Sunday Telegraph had an article outlining the Steelers plans to erase their debt to St George Leagues Club. The plan to be tabled at the Club AGM in December will include the building of a residential complex on a block of vacant land owned by the club. "We are considering a...

    Newcastle - Leagues Clubs

Hi Knights fans, I was just wondering, with all the financial troubles up there, what's the position of some the local clubs up there? Do many of them have leagues clubs of their own? I know Wests(?) is quite well off(?). Down here in the Illawarra our clubs have got leagues clubs galore...

Entire NRL Round in the US

I think taking an entire round of the NRL to the US would be the most effective way of getting the game on the radar in America. The reason for entire round, is to keep it as fair as possible, so that everyone has to make the same trek (whoever has the bye could field a team to play the USA...

    DRAGONS - Alternate Jersey

There's quite a bit of debate about the Dragons new alternate jersey (for either 2005 or 2006). Obviously, Steelers fans want the old Illawarra jersey to be the alternate design. Quite a few St.George people support this but alot also strongly oppose it in favour of the blood and bandages...

    Excuse my NSW ignorance...

Do you guys have a Storm army of supporters at home games? I haven't noticed on TV. The Storm Troopers would be a pretty good way to build more support in Melbourne ;-) I hope to get down to Melbourne one time and get to a Storm game.

    ROY AND HG NEXT WEEK!!!

With two teams that everyone hates in the GF, there's never been a better reason to listen to Roy and HG on Triple J. May as well get a laugh out it, cause I won't be getting much out of the game otherwise.

    NATIONAL ANTHEM

Is it just me or does it seem strange that we're not singing the national anthem before games during these finals? Last night's game would of been great with a full house... though i suppose alot of doggie supporters wouldn't know the words :P Also, when they do the national anthem at the...

GEN - Sacrifice Origin for Lions?

What do you people think about this idea. Only play one origin game, but play 5 mid-week tests against the Poms. It would mean less players missing from club games, only one rep team but over a long period (as opposed to 3 origin and 3 tests). The only problem is the Poms would be missing...

    Nathan Brown

Warren Ryan made some interesting comments about the Dragons and their coach, Nathan Brown, this afternoon on ABC Grandstand. In a nutshell, he believes Brown shouldn't be coaching an NRL side yet, citing that he shouldn't be learning with the team, instead he should be teaching the team. He...

"THE ARL MUST RUN THE GAME" Remember that slogan. I think it is still appropriate today.

    Who does the best call?

I'd have to say Rabs... but Warren Smith does a pretty good job on FOX, definately better than those other two guys Fox have on the crappy games. I like Vossy too though... but it wouldn't be footy without Ray Warren.

    Preferred Finals Format

I prefer anything other than the current top 8 with 15 teams! Top 7 at most, go to 8 if they bring in a 16th team. But there was nothing quite like the good old top 5. Plus, it was much more fair.

League Cities: 7 of the top 10

Australia's 10 Largest Cities: 7 of them are Rugby League cities. - Sydney - NRL - Melbourne - AFL (has NRL team that receives hardly any help with promotions from the league and coverage on free to air) - Brisbane - NRL - Perth - AFL - Adelaide - AFL - Newcastle - NRL - Canberra - NRL...

    New Arrangement

This is related to the "Steelers Owe St.George 8.24mil" thread, thought I'd start a fresh thread to discuss this interesting idea that was brought up. Joint Venture ends, St.George get the NRL license. Steelers field Premier League team which feeds into St.George (who would have no PL)...
