    Menzie Yere interesting fact

Not only was Menzie Yere one of the best performing players in the Kumuls 4 nations campaign, but would be pretty confident in saying he would now be the only PNG player in history to have scored tries against the big 3 - Australia, New Zealand and England. Having scored against Australia in...

    New AMNRL team logos

Great decision by Jax to keep with their existing logo. The new one was appalling and very similiar to the Tomahawks one. I would be disapointed if I was the Fight also. I think their old one was great and unique, the new one looks very poor.

What will the PNG team look like in the 4 nations?

Nicko Slain has been released by Hunslet Hawks and is returning to PNG. That is a blow to him personally and to PNG in terms of having players playing at higher levels prior to the 4 Nations. On a positive note, George Kepa is going well down in Sydney, Tyson Martin is performing strongly for...

    png halfback

A potential backline for PNG could read: 1. David Mead (Titans) 2. Michael Mark (Hunslet) 3. Menzie Yere (Sheffield) 4. Jessie Joe Parker (Featherstone) 5. Larsen Marabe (Featherstone) 6. Dion Aiye (Rabaul Gurias) 7. Ray Thompson (Cowboys) Not a bad line up!

    png halfback

Here are a few more names to add to the previous lists: Tom Butterfiueld is playing first grade at Redcliffe Dolphins. Larsen Marabe is at Featherstone, Trevor Exton at Sheffield Eagles, Nicko Slain at Hunslet. As for who should be number 7, if Thompson is eligible then he definately has...

It's official: Paris to bid for SL 2012

Would be wonderful to see Paris and Toulouse included. We have seen these last few weeks what having a Super League team in Wales has done for them and I truly believe that with more French sides in SL it will further increase player depth for the French national team. It may not happen...

    Tonga v Fiji match thread

I dont know why Tonga go past 2 passes wide. They are going great in the middle of the field and should stick with it.

    Tonga v Fiji match thread

Im going to make an out there statement, but I believe Auila Uate will be the best ever Fijian rugby league player, surpassing the likes of Lote Tuquri and Noa Nadruku. His explosive power is phenomenal.

    Tonga v Fiji match thread

Another player Tonga are really missing is Tony Williams. He was named in the squad 3 weeks ago, but hasnt played in any of the Tongan games. Again, I owuld suspect injury has ruled him out.

    Tonga v Fiji match thread

Tonga only decent player last week was Sione Tongia who scored 3 tries, yet is not playing today. I would presume that injury is why.

    Tonga v Fiji match thread

Tonga have it all over the Fijians in the middle of the field and have so many big guys. Simple mistakes are all that is cruelling them from finishing off more movements. For Fiji, Logaigavalu and Macalai have been a lot better today, yet they are still not getting anything out of their...

    PNG v Tonga

PNG looked great until the last 10 mins when they made a number of handling errors and let Tonga score 2 tries. Apart from that, awesome effort. Yere and Wabo looked great after a year in UK. Wabo has improved immensely after spending this season with Hunslet.

    PNG v Tonga

Sheffield Eagles got one of the best signings in Menzie Yere after last years WC and his year in the UK this season has made him an even better player and will only continue to get better. He won the Eagles player of the year and was in the Co-Op 1 team of the year also.

    PNG v Tonga

With 20mins to go, barring an absolute miracle, it will be a PNG vs Cooks final next week. Will be an absolute cracker. Both teams are by far and away the most structured sides.
