Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson is asking all Rabbitohs’ Members and supporters to fire up for this Sunday’s big game with the Parramatta Eels, saying this is a chance to create an extra home game for the Club.

As part of the reciprocal rights agreement made between ANZ Stadium and its three NRL Clubs, all Rabbitohs Ticketed Members gain access to this ‘away’ game at the Rabbitohs home ground.

“I urge all 11,000-plus Ticketed Members of our Club to come to ANZ Stadium, our home ground, this Sunday and turn it into what effectively is our 13th home game,” Mr Richardson said.

“This is an opportunity for us to gain a home ground advantage for one of our 12 away games.

“It’s played at our home stadium, we’re using our very own Rabbitohs dressing rooms, and we want our players to run out to a sea of red and green.

“ANZ Stadium is our home ground. Let’s remind everyone of that.”

Mr Richardson said this is a very important game for South Sydney.

“We’ve been playing good football over the past few weeks and we have an opportunity to make it four-in-a-row this Sunday,” Mr Richardson explained.

“The Eels may have started the season slowly, but they had a similar start last season and went on to make the Grand Final.

“Guys like Hindmarsh, Hayne, Cayless, Tahu, Moimoi, Mateo and Mortimer will all be hurting and wanting to kickstart their season as soon as possible. Hindmarsh is playing a record-breaking game this Sunday.

“As their opposition, we need to make that as difficult a prospect as possible.

“Make no bones about it, they’ll be up for this game.

“We have to do everything we can to inspire our team to win their fourth game of the season and the best we can do that is to show up on Sunday, make plenty of noise, paint the stadium red and green and get behind the team for the whole 80 minutes.

“The support has been tremendous over the first month of the competition and the players have responded.

“We saw last weekend in Gosford what effect the Members can have. The ‘South Sydney’ chant that went up when we were defending our own line at 12-10 and the game was in the balance. The support from the Members does help lift the players, and we need that this Sunday.

“I’m asking all of our Members to make the effort to get the game this Sunday. It’s on at 3pm so bring the whole family.

“Three-in-a-row is great, but four-in-a-row is that much better.

“Stand and be counted this Sunday and help cheer the team home.”

Rabbitohs Reserved Ticketed Members have access to seating on level four of the eastern side of ANZ Stadium on Sunday.

Rabbitohs General Admission and Regional Ticketed Members have access to general admission seating at ANZ Stadium for this round six clash.

All Rabbitohs Ticketed Members need to do is scan their Ticketed Membership Card for access to the game this Sunday.

That's the spirit Richo.

It wan't so long ago that an Easts official urged their members to go to their Leagues Club to watch a game between the two oldest clubs in the game.

Richo has always been forward thinking. ;-)
