Does anyone else not see the point of picking Gidley on the bench?
Smith's an 80 minute player. If a half gets injured, Bird can fill in. If a centre gets injured, Bird or Hoffman can fill in. If the fullback gets injured, Lockyer, Hodges and Inglis can all move back.
IMO the team's better served by playing another forward on the bench, rather than picking a fullback on the bench and disrupting the core of the team just to give him a run for 15 minutes.

Webb being picked is a joke, what has he done to warrant selection? He's good for 5 hitups a game, around 8 mistackles and 2 penalties to the opposition. He's a myth.
