Hayne 19 Runs, 161m
O'Dwyer 13 Runs 112m
Williams 13 Runs 114m
Riddell 10 Runs 99m
Hindmarsh 18 Runs 153m (53 Tackles)
McKinnon 12 Runs 105m
Morrison 13 Runs 137m

Cordoba had a shocker, Delaney should neve be allowed to play first grade again

i'm surprised we had that many over 100m.

i think we just ran out of puff during the game with a lack of forwards. a bench that has wade, delaney, widders and the juice we were going to struggle. pj and widders have a role they play but we really needed at least one big forward to come off the bench, a role that wade shouldn't be expected to fill and that delaney struggles with.

even though williams played a fair game and made good ground we also missed eric's charges that tend to take pressure off our forwards.

great effort by hindy he was out on his feet a couple of times today. we can't carry 3 backs on the bench and except to win football games

scary thought that 4 backs made over 100m and only two forwards did the same. something for jt to think about. a loss is never good but this should do us more good than harm.

Didnt see Cordoba much in the 2nd half, obviously he was tested with the big Broncos forwards and him being the only recognised prop.

We did alright, but our bench let us down. We probably needed another prop or second rower, maybe someone like Peter Lewis, Junior Paulo.

btw, I thought I saw Michael searle at the ground. Must be lookin at his future players O'Dwyer and Delaney.

spot on. the boys didn't play bad but were dominated out of the game. just had no answers when the question was asked.

the likes of webke, thiday, petero and thorne embarrassed us up front
Your talking about test quailty players there they had a on day all on the same day they would have smashed anybody today.
We really defended well considering and had no ball so all in all we played as well as we were allowed by a better team on the day.
Brisbane can't keep that up for 5 more weeks but they are not a threat to the premiership IMO.
There is only 4 teams that can win, Storm, Dogs, Manly and Newcastle.
If we had Cayless and Fui we would be a hope as well.

I understand Delaney being on the bench because he has first grade experience, but really, he isn't going to get us over the line. We either need to go for an untested big guy or an untested ball player because at the moment we have few players that can create space for themselves.

I'd actually be tempted to shift Hayne to fullback as it would give him more free-roam. I thought he was very strong.

i thought brisbane slowed us down in the rucks as well. it may be my imagination but they, and thaiday in particular, seemed to come in late on our tackled players a lot. it wasn't the obvious flop tackle but more the player running in and making it look like they were committed to a tackle and jumping on our players backs just after they hit the ground.

yeah they definitely won the battle of the ruck. Our guys didnt seem urgent enough to get up and play the ball.

also noticed we were backing off a lot more in defence instead of coming up out wide. Let them run alot and failed to take out the big forwards legs like we have been doing well.

Everytime a brisbane forward ran the ball, we would tackle high and let them run 15 metres every hitup. We just looked out of the game today, but i think a loss was good for us still. We will bounce back!

Has anyone got the stats for Wagon?

I thought, in such a match, when we were down big men, it would take the experienced guys to put their heads down and bums up and really try and kick some arse.
I thought Wagon was bloody useless in attack. Hindy can find it in his heart to go the extra mile. Morrison busted his gut. Riddell did as well.
But Wagon had a picnic in attack. Sure his defence may have been up there, but there were times when we were run off our feet, trying to get the ball out of our quarter, and he was no where to be seen.

Very disappointing.

I noticed the backing off in the first half of the Sharks game. It picked up in the 2nd half of the sharks game though.

I also noticed that our guys bolt down after a kickoff. I mean really bolt.

Then for the next few tackles they were good, but around the 4th. We didn't have the in your face defense and they were around the 50 by then.

I know Wags didn't have an outstanding game in attack but I was more disappointed with Delaney and Widders.

They should have rolled up their sleeves more to give our other forwards a break. Both Widders and Delaney played as wide 2nd rowers, defending and attacking out wide.

When you see us getting dominated in the forwards, they should've put their hands up, come in looking for the ball and go down the middle as well as defending in the middle so that Hindy, Wags, Chad, Morro could take a breather out wide.

Widders came make a good hitup forward with his acceleration. Sometimes we just need him to hit it up down the middle instead of waiting out wide to set something up.

Delaney showed a bit more speed and could've come in more.

well to be honest in my eyes delaney did alot better than most of the others out there... an offload to ben smith who only had to pass to williams and we were in...
