Me being a Penrith supporter :)

well from the 23rd of this month it will be

I was 10 yrs old when i started to really get into Rugby league & chose the Panthers as my team, i was a full on Soccer supporter back then, and still am now, (go Liverpool) (back then everyone was either a Brisbane, Canberra, Cantebury or Manly supporter), i dont know why i chose the panthers. Probably because Brandy was my fave player at the time and didnt want to jump on the bandwaon of the raiders, ect

I guess it was Michael Witt, Joel Hiet and Nathan nixon who really gotten me into following league (the 3 of them just couldnt understand why i chose Penrith)

So, i ask this, how long have you supported the Panthers for & what made you like them and Rugby League in general

I became a Panthers supporter in 1994 as well.

Because Freddie was my favourite player at the time. And because for some reason I was a Broncos supporter, and all my mates were giving me crap for that, and chose to support a team closer to home. Parra were an absolute joke at that time, so I chose the Panthers.

I started supporting the Panthers when I was 4 so I have been a supporter for 21 years.

I grew up going to Penrith games with my dad and have supported the team ever since. I don't know why I love them, I just do. I gues its in my blood. :D

I think it was about 90 or 91 when I started supporting the Panthers. I remember after the GF win of 91 I made everyone that was at my place watching the game Brandy Alexanders, I had done a cocktail bar course that year and came first in the class.

I was a Tigers supporter as a kid, the '89 grand final was torture on me!

As for me being a Broncos supporter, it's an episode of my life that I am not proud of, and wish to forget!

:? Not exactly sure of the date i started following panthers and i'm not sure really the reason for it either apart from noticing `Brandy'. It was around 85/86/87...before that i was not really into teams as such, my mum was a staunch Wests Supporter and still is to this day. I remember when i was working in Liverpool getting on the train coming home with a bunch of mad `West' Supporters...i think it was the time that they were moving grounds and there was some protest about it from the fans. Anyway it was probably about the time I actually `chose' a team. Why I didnt follow in my mother's footsteps and choose Wests...I dunno, probably because I didnt do anything that my mother told me in those days. I liked Brandy at the time so i took on the whole team and followed them ever since.

I've been supporting the MIGHTY PENRITH PANTHERS since 1988.

My husband got it into his head (I have no idea why), that we were going to go
and watch a live game of local footy to see what it was like.

Neither of us had ever followed footy before that day, and funny enough, I was
nabbed hook, line and sinker, in the first 10 minutes, and have followed the Panthers
with a blinding passion ever since, whereas my husband (who's brilliant idea it was
to go to the game in the first place), decided after that one game that it really wasn't
that great after all, and has since paid no more attention to it than he ever did before.

But as luck would have it, my daughter came with me a couple of times, and she's
been hooked ever since as well, and since the last 2 or 3 years my son has started
coming with us well.

Poor hubby has to keep working hard to pay for all my "away" footy matches, season
tickets, jerseys, and other merchandise.

He's a stupid man for not loving the footy........but he's also a great guy for happily
spending out so much money on me every year to satisfy my passion for the Panthers.

I started supporting the panthers in 1989. I chose them for no other reason then they were my local team. Admittedly it was a slow start though I remember my first game at penrith stadium I was more interested in watching the clock for most of the game then the actual game.

But I did go back again and again and again, in fact its kinda an obsession during the winter months these days. :D

I started supporting the mighty panthers in 1972. Fibroman Snr told me I should support my local team, so I did. So I guess I'm in my 32nd year of support.
