Weather forecast is terrible for tomorrow, consistent rain

Hopefully weather gods with us and we get some sort of fixture going , even the base minimum 20 overs per side.

Starts 2.30 AEDT

Going to belt down with a 100% chance of rain all day.

It's silly that with that cyclone being camped off the coast for a week they really should have moved this game.

Apparently there's a good chance tomorrow's Super Rugby match in Brisbane will be cancelled due to the cyclone. That doesn't bode well for the cricket.

Brisbane area

Cloudy. Very high (near 100%) chance of rain, becoming less likely this afternoon. Rain heavy at times during the morning, easing in the early afternoon. The chance of a thunderstorm. Winds south to southeasterly 15 to 25 km/h turning southwesterly 20 to 30 km/h in the late afternoon.

They will get some overs in.

Looking at the radars, it rains now but will pass by lunch.

Look at the Gympie then Brisbane radar. It will pass.

Not in Bris, but just looking at the radar, the guts of it seems to be heading over now and at a decent rate with not much behind it. Will be a massive test for the Gabba's already top notch drainage if the sky does let up this arvo.

Looking hopeful for play today.
Edge of rain is about 85km to NNW. Moving at roughly 30-40km/hr.
So maybe clearance around 11:30 local time.

Then it all depends on how bad the field is and how quick the grounds crew can fix it. I am thinking (without much of an idea) that there will still be a delay due to problems with the outfield.

The drainage at the Gabba is ridiculously good. If the rain stops completely by 11:30 they should be ready by the starting time. That said, it looks like there is still a couple hours of rain to come through.

Heres an interesting thought...

If the game is called off early (within a couple of hours of the scheduled start)

Will channel 9

1. Show repeats of Friends
2. Doris Day movie
3. Documentary on antiques

On the radar the worst of it looks to be tracking out to sea, so there is a fairly good chance of play.

Arse end passing Caboolture now. Could clear up by the scheduled start time. More overs the better for us, the shorter the game the more of a sniff the Bangers will get.

I think this is the first time Bangladesh have played at any of the major Australian cricket grounds.

They have played at Cairns and Darwin in 03 and 09 back when they had the top end mid year series.
