Just because Hogkinson has signed for the Knights,it doesn't mean that Newcy deserved a vote in the poll.

Brisbane by the same score their under 20's put on last week.

I hate to say this but this is a danger game for us. Our very depleted side beat them easily last time they played, which could lead this side to take them lightly, too lightly and add the what effect Sunday will have on us with a short turn around.

We defend like we can, and attack like we can and the score could be anything really, we could put a cricket score up, but everything could go wrong.

Team lists wise the Knights have a decent forward pack, but OMG that spine has to be the worst in the comp easily.

that's actually the worst I have seen

what on earth has gone wrong in Newcastle

Mixture of injury and horrendous (aka non existent) forward planning by the club the past few years. Bad errors in judgement like not signing a proper hooker to replace Buderus - instead relying on juniors that weren't ready. Re-signing blokes like Roberts and Gidley for 400k each instead of a firstgrade standard halfback. Packing the squad full of older forwards to have a crack at the title in 2013 (seemed like a good idea at the time) seemingly without a future plan to filter them out and younger blokes in (other than relying on juniors). Signing a f**king winger for 500k, our weird obsession with outside backs to begin with, stupidly agreeing to pay Boyd out which put further pressure on the cap. The list is endless...

Doesn't help that the players drop like flies either. None of that spine for Friday night were the first choice spine to start the year. The club didn't seem to have a plan for the likely event that Mullen (let alone the rest of the spine too) went down which just highlights the stupidity.

We just lost Reed for the match. Kahu moves to centre, Oates to the wing and Copely to the bench. Man we have some impressive depth.

With so much defence to do last week our attack never really clicked. It's good we'll get a nice training run tonight for some practice.
