Everyone bitches about Canterbury and Brisbane being on Channel 9 all the time... but how the hell did they end up on FOX Saturday 7:30pm when they faced each other?

1 v 8 consigned to a shit Saturday timeslot... while this 11 v 15 is the Friday feature game

First time Canberra and Newcastle have played each other on a Friday night since 1996 (and in Canberra since 1995).

Raiders should have too many points in them. But you never know what kind of Canberra side will turn up at home the past couple of years

Heading down for this game. Question for the locals. What's the best place for a beer and feed that's near the stadium?

I'll be in my Knights colours on Friday night :). Ready to be disappointed.

There's not much in Bruce. There's some places in Belconnen like Lighthouse but they're pretty garbage. Civic has a much better selection for whatever you like and has good places to eat. Hopscotch in Braddon is really good for food and beers. Same thing with Bentspoke Brewing in Braddon and if you want cocktails, check Playground in Garema Place

Thanks mate I'll suss it out when I get there. Yeah I have zero confidence. We're close to full strength at least (pending how Gags and Scott pull up) so they should at least show some improvement.

Probably the Lighthouse, but otherwise anywhere in Belconnen

Friday night, at Caitlyn Stadium on FTA... oh yeah, this is RIPE for the Raiders to completely shit the bed

The Raiders could shit the bed for 65 minutes and still win.

The Labor club in Belconnen town centre runs a bus to and from the game. Not far from the ground, beers are cheap and food is ok.

Thing is Tim,and to simplify the reasoning, they, the NRL,didn't have a crystal ball at the time of setting the draw.

And even so,every club deserves to get their fair share of Friday night matches.

And still, why can't three matches get played on Friday night a-la Saturday night?

The first two matches would be between four clubs that are not Broncos involved which would be shown in N.S.W.

And the Broncos game will be shown live during the second N.S.W.game and replayed after the second which is shown in N.S.W.

That way, those fans that are absolutely not interested in watching Brisbane week in and week out have that extra option.
