We've had 1 woman basher kept on the books at Easts. Thankfully he never played another game of first grade for us after his conviction. Busted his knee in consecutive years (karma is a bitch) and was then shipped off to Penrith where he has also done nothing.
Ferguson is the only other serious offender and hopefully he turns out a bust as I hate him in my team's colours
Any other incident you care to mention essentially boils down to drunken idiots, most of whom were sacked after their incidents (Carney, Myles, Friend, the 2 drop kick U20s players, etc)
Inglis is ok though because why exactly?
Normally Souths have a strong stance with this kind of stuff but i'm not sure what's happened exactly. I remember a few years back there was a one strike and you're out policy where we sacked the likes of Junior Vaivai and James Roberts who were promising talents but couldn't get their act straight. The Roosters on the other hand always seem to pick up drop kicks, give them a few chances and then eventually sack them.
Considering the Inglis situation happened in 2009 well before we even signed him and the fact that the issue has been resolved. Not condoning the act but he is now happily married and has just had a kid.
I think we just need to sit these guys down and say 'Look, what you've done is absolutely moronic but we're gonna give you a chance to make up for it. You do the time, come back and we'll give you a second shot'
Players these days come into grade at a very young age and do extremely stupid shit but that doesn't mean we need to necessarily banish them into the doldrums for eternity, like I said the Roosters are a club who have given a million chances to dropkicks and now you're giving Souths shit for doing it once and waiting on court decisions to see if they're actually guilty.
