The sport of Rugby League generates turnover of at least $200 million a year in Australia if you take everything into account (15 clubs with turnover averageing $10 mill + TV + travel costs for fans to get to games + heaps of other sundaries).
If we could redirect a tiny percentage of that money to developing emerging nations in RL we would reap big rewards in the future. As an example, the RU people are budgeting for a $45 mill profit from their WC for the Australian RU alone.
On TV the other night Greg McCullum talked about the 1895 club raising money directly from fans to support the international game. The below article is an example of how they do this.

I think we need to find a way to support the efforts of this worthy organisation, even if it is just by finding a way to send them money direct, but it would be better if fundraising events for international league could be organised by the big clubs, because they have the expertise.
