So you agree Rugby Union is bigger in Perth? Because they are getting 6k crowds.
If the Force folds, I would be more in favour of a team in Perth because we need those fans. But it highlights how hard it is in Perth for non AFL teams.
The performance of an underwhelming club in Australia’s most underwhelming professional sports competition which is stuck behind a paywall is not a good indicator of future performance of a new club in a sport which is featured three nights a week on FTA tv.

Rugby has at least triple the registered players as league in Perth

Football is bigger participation than any sport in Perth, how's Glory going? Wildcats are doing very well, as is cricket. Particpation does not equal fans of a professional club always.

Yes going up against two big entrenched AFL clubs isnt easy, but majority of Pirates fans will not be AFL fans and the NRL is a much higher profile sport, even here where they have neglected to push it, than any other code.

Ppl saying NRL is hidden on gem to defend only 3k watching on telly, also saying NRL much bigger sport

I'd rather they choose financially able bid then worry about what afl teams are doing

and you know already that Perth won't be financially viable because twiggy is the only rich person in WA and he loves Union not League?

Perth is just Twiggy living in this gated off gold plated castle in peppermint grove and then 2 million average joes.

No, coz twiggy built force their own comp when they were dumped. Who is going to step up & see reds through losing seasons?!

As usual there are nuances here.
Mr Black and White paints a picture of the Reds being in the land of milk and honey with the potential of being bankrolled by billionaires and having the support of everyone who has ever lived in or visited Perth.

Mr/Ms Woke paints the picture of Perth being a deadbeat town with no one supporting NRL now or ever.

Perth will have hurdles if they get in that will be unique to them re their isolation, being a non NRL town and the fact that Perth isn't a utopia where everybody is rolling in prosperity. The base is there though.

There's only 12k watching on GEM in Melbourne, yet Storm are one of the best supported teams in the comp. Go figure.

Storm exist because Melbourne has population of almost 6 million & if team makes finals that's a win for NRL. Perth is much smaller
