It's really hard to see Brisbane 3 being the next team, precisely because all the opposition it'd have from the Broncos, News Ltd, Dolphins & Titans.
Everyone pretending news don't own foxtel too & would benefit from Brisbane 3

Pokies are legal in 2023, but they are by no means guaranteed to be in the next decade.News own foxtel too!!
Brisbane is only bid with stable & known backers. Tigers been around almost as long as NRL. Reds died when owners lost interest.
What's the current state of play regarding changes to Pokies regulation in Australia?Pokies are legal in 2023, but they are by no means guaranteed to be in the next decade.
At the very least they may be heavily regulated in some form.
Without pokies, Easts are a park footy outfit.
There’s no bids anywhere as there is no invite to bid yet.So what r u crowing about saying next team is Perth & when there's no bid?!
That's the real kicker there - how the NRL call for bids. There’s no bids anywhere as there is no invite to bid yet.
We have Interested bidders at this point. PNG, Easts and WA. And the go anywhere Bears.
Nrl may well decide the city and invite only bids from that city like they did club17.
in terms of those cities perth and brisbane would be the two most likely choices, but like I said brisbane may be off the table for now until dolphins are settled in.
New laws coming in won’t have much impactWhat's the current state of play regarding changes to Pokies regulation in Australia?

Pay tv gets money from advertisers too.
Yeah, I suspect that the call will likely either be "open slather" OR "Everywhere except for SE-Queensland".Open slather would be good, then we have an idea of what is on the table if/when they go for 19 & 20. In saying that if the NRL has decided on an area behind closed doors they should probably limit bids to that area to save wasting everyone else’s time & money.
Brisbane 3 won't generate more pay TV subscriptions in Brisbane.
