19 Clubs bid for Super League

An article on Super League's website has stated that along with the existing twelve clubs, another seven are bidding for places in the 2009 Super League competition. They are:

* Widnes
* Salford
* Leigh
* Featherstone Rovers
* Halifax
* Celtic Crusaders
* Toulouse

Featherstone and Halifax are going to step up their applications for 2011, as they see that they are unlikely to be accepted in 2009.

Interesting i hope that they are genuine about giving lower division clubs a go after the franchise system comes in.
