That was bad. Still hope for Australia but your bowlers need an absolute shollacking. And Brett Lee and Ryan Harris are a must. They are more accurate. Lee with 2 yorkers could have finished the game in the 30th over.. Gee its a long way to the 4th world cup.???

Are Lee and Harris fit though?

Wake up dickhead, it is Ponting fault we are in this mess. sh*ttle,Haurie,North,Hussey,sh*tchell are all his pets and no matter what continue to be picked. Neilsen is a Nuffy yes man who does whatever Ponting wants. If you think any differently you are kidding yourself. Our bowlers continue to bowl without plans, negative field placings and a lack of ideas under pressure has been happening for the last 2 or 3 years. Young players continue to be overlooked for good blokes who are married and get on with the group(ie suck up). The results are there for all to see.

lol..

You are incapable of understanding anything. Ponting is not the God of australian cricket.

You spend so much time in this forum yet have no clue whatsoever about the game. You have been exposed as a clueless fraud.

 I'm a fraud, that is piss funny coming from a bloke with his head that far up his arse. We'll see who is right when we lose the Ashes this year. It will be everyone's fault bar Pontings.

Watson has bowled pretty well in test cricket of late, do you even watch or do you just guess?? Johnson always bowls better on Aussie wickets he will be the leading wicket taker this series...
Johnson has been in the international set up for what, four years? He has never developed any sort of f**king brain. Never. He has occasional good days, which usually feature a wicket or two from a short wide ball, but he leaks runs and has no ability to cope with pressure. He's going to get murdered this summer i suspect, but will selectors have the guts to drop him? Or will they scapegoat a batsmen like last time?

Siddle, f**k me dead. Average of 35 means he definately needed to be rushed into the side when fit.

lol.

Give it up you clueless idiot, follow something that you might have a clue about like maybe ping pong because clearly you have no idea about cricket.
We will be losing games ten yrs after ponting retires yet clueless wonders like yourself will still be blaming ponting.

Most likely we will lose the Ashes but it will all be Pontings fault because he can't bowl fast yorkers or bat 1 to 11...

I need to seriously ask something...

What did Stuart Clark ever do to lose his place in either the ODI or Test team?

...Seriously?

Clark gets injured. Happens to alot of people. Decides to give himself some prep before the Ashes by playing county cricket.
Cricket Australia in their wisdoms decides he needs to play in a pissy ODI series instead.
Ashes tour starts, surprise surprise he's underdone.
First test bowlers poor, Johnson rubbish
Lords (ideal for Clark) not selected, Johnson is disgraceful, Hughes gets dropped
ditto 3rd test
Clark gets picked bowls very well.
Plays average in the last test (hardly on his own there). Is pretty pissed off with the whole selection process (understandably) and probably had papers stamped there.

I dont think Stuart Clark hasnt been the same since he came back from elbow surgery, plus age might be against him. Not sure Siddle is his ideal replacement either, though its real good to see Hilfy and Dougy getting better in test cricket and I think these 2 guys are our main hoped of bowling the poms out

There is a darkhorse out there like matt cameron. Who litterly killed QLD at the Gabba in the last sheild game. If he can stay injury free, he is worth a shot at international level

Interested to see how Copeland goes in the next few shield games also.

I agree, Clark never got back to his best post injury, but hwo knows if he got that bowling under his belt pre-Ashes how he could've gone

From the way the Aussies have been playing of late I shouldn't at all be surprised, and full credit to Sri Lanka for not giving up they did pull of a great victory tonight and deservedly so. However I do reckon the Aussie didn't take advantage when they had them 8 down.

See how things go for game 2

Clarke; Given that he said Smith was injured, i don't really think he did too much wrong tonight... I agree with Mark Nicholas, he should've brought himself, f**k, even the likes of Hussey or Cameron White before giving the ball back to Siddle or Johnson, atleast Hastings was fairly economical for the most part.

Dohery; Have become a massive fan of this guy over the past few years, Tasmania have been going well with him and Kreja (sp?) - good to see him do well, Hauritz's time is up.

Lee; Most people know i'm a massive fan, so i can't deny the bias, however he is one of the all time world ODI greats, surely his selection is a matter of when, not if.

Harris, Bollinger; As most have said, i believe these 2 should complete the ODI bowling line up. Both proven, and have a greater deal of accuracy/planning in their bowling than johnson/siddle, Hastings imo is a year of domestic cricket off being his prime.

f**king Ponting. Once again failing to kill off the game when it was there to be won.

Oh wait...

Really hoping Bollinger is the missing link for these major chokes against the tail. Else it must be a coach thing, although he should be gone now as hes been with Ponting through all the crap we have gone through.

Stuart Clark was never much of an ODI bowler anyway IMO. He came across as a test match specialist...

now that the dust has settled this morning and the disappointment has faded we really should give credit to Matthews and Malinga they played superbly
