Advertising a site other than LU is my guess.....

What a bad drop by Smith! Hopefully Ponting makes him pay, but what a bad drop.... terrible from a first-slipper!
If that is the reason that's not what I was trying to do, the link I posted has a live stream of the test, I thought that anyone who couldn't watch might want to watch it there, can I have permission to re-post the link?

You call it that, I call it common sense. North, for example, has all day (or with our lineup, two hours lol) to at least have a look at what's going on, get a feel for the crowd etc. Hughes as an opener didn't have that luxury, giving him even a ball or two is an advantage over him batting first up IMO

It's all hindsight bazal.

That website is illegal, but for example over here in NZ we have no other option, cos Sky NZ can`t even be bothered to show highlights the next day.

Ok my bad, I just thought it was alright because everyone was doing the same when the 2008 WC was on.

Not the best first session.

Whether Hughes faced the frist ball or not is all hindsite. To be honest there are pros and cons of both. I can guarantee if hed got an average ball straight up n got off the mark people would be commending him for the brave move to take the first ball. Theyd probably even throw a few cliches in like 'hes showing them hes not scared' and 'instantly taking the challenge to south africa'. I agree with another, yeah sure a few balls might of relaxed him, but to play at that level you have to control your nerves, if your good enough to open your good enough to take the first rock.

Our bowling isn't as bad as you're all making it out to be... we have 1 bowler coming off career best test figures in his last test and 2 bowlers coming of their best ever 1st class bowling figures as well :sarcasm:

That session showed our average batting again. Hughes could get murdered this series and with no backup batsman he could be in for a real bad time.

Katich - well hes usually good - the early dismissal of hughes put the pressure right on him and he obviously tried to dig us out which isnt usually his game.

Hussey - well failed again. Has hammered 100s for years now while we have dominated and pounded average attacks and some decent attacks but in low pressure situations.

If you wanna prove you should be there, get runs on a day like this. If anyone does get runs today though, it will be the usual suspects. I hope im wrong but id be suprised if Haddin comes out and gets a big one on a day like this.

What's with all the love for Bollinger? He's lucky to play state cricket, the fact he is in this tour is a massive over-achievement for him. You lot are bloody desperate for another NSW quick to call a star obviously
Probably something to do with him dominating state cricket the last couple of seasons and deserving another shot after Sydney above a part timer like Ronald
