Love these Indian commentators..."The Indian batsmen have played the full deliveries very well"

Last I checked all 3 wickets were bowleds...

I can imagine a classic batting collapse in our 2nd innings. We really need a decent first innings lead

We seem to be the masters of collapsing in the 3rd innings of a match. When the scores are relatively even after the 2nd innings, that 3rd innings becomes so important in the context of the test match (as was seen in the last series we had over there in 2010).

And yes, the bonus is that we aren't batting last on this pitch. I give us a little bit more hope than if we had to bat in the 4th innings. I can see this pitch wreaking havoc tomorrow and even moreso on day 4. With the uneven bounce that has already occurred in day 2, we will be really rueing that we didn't choose a 2nd spinner.

Also, another prediction: if India win this match, I can see the BCCI preparing flat tracks for the next three tests to ensure at least a draw and furthermore so that they get more money (as they get paid on a per day basis, hence the proliferation of flat tracks that've occurred since that Mumbai test in 2004).

Also, funny how Gavaskar and Shastri (the two bitches of the BCCI) crap on about how Chennai has been one of the venues that has attracted good crowds for test matches in India. The crowd is absolutely no where near as full as it was in that thrilling 3rd test in 2001.

We really could've done with Steve O'Keefe out there in exchange for Henriques (no offence, I know he batted well but O'Keefe would've made a better all-round option), Starc (good bowler, but will need a little bit more match practice in Sheffield Shield to eradicate those Mitchell Johnson-like balls he bowls at times), or Siddle (bowled crap so far).

To think that Doherty - who took 2 wickets @ 80 in Shield cricket when the squad was announced - got the nod over O'Keefe in the touring squad is a disgrace. New Zealand would die to have a spinner like O'Keefe in their side.

Henriques is fine he did his job with the bat but SOK over Siddle or Starc would have done the trick. Bird over either of them would have been good too.
