It also doesn't help when 2 of our top 6 batsmen were wrongly dismissed. Who knows how many they would have added.

Yeah. That sort of stuff has happened for years. Sadly we need the ICC to make it law to use DRS for all internationals. Yet now Hughes is gone they need a new scapegoat or just get rid of Hussey and Ponting

He might be the best but he's also a cheat. I can understand people not liking him.
I reckon it's a bit of an exaggeration to call a bloke a cheat for one minor incident that happened years ago in an otherwise flawless record.

So he scratched some dirt out of a seam. Not a good thing but not massive in the grand scheme of things, and certainly a needle in a haystack compared to his 15k runs and 99 centuries.

Still can't believe people want Ponting out. He saved Australias first innings again this season with a solid 60 odd. Sure its not a century, but it stopped the flow of wickets and helped us get some control back in the game.

When he stops being useful, especually in desperate moments like those, then move him on.

Until then, the fact he's still scoring 50's, especially after we've lost a couple of quick wickets is exactly the reason why he should be retained.

People are free to like or dislike whoever they want

But, some of the stuff here is pretty low-brow, and many of the people hurling churlish abuse at Tendulkar worship a vain prick who's a convicted drugs cheat that took money from bookies

Excellent test by the way, shame this thread has been dominated by whinging and mindless xenophobic nonsense...

We've seen a fine debut by Cowan, fighting innings by the 2nd and 3rd highest run scorers in the history of tests, a wonderful if short innings by the highest scorer in test history, decent quick bowling by two young quicks, whole hearted efforts by Zaheer and Siddle, an excellent looking spinner in Aswhin, and some cavalier stuff from Sehwag and to a lesser extent Warner... what more could one want?

Surely Hilfenhaus won't be required further? he looks ordinary, despite the talking up of the CH 9 cheerleaders... and is Ian Healy really that stupid?

And the selection of Hussey at #6 ahead of Christrian is now looking an ordinary one, with Hilfenhaus being pretty much useless, and Lyon not up to bowling at that lineup, using Hussey and Warner is a little sad really...

and his evidence at Harbijan's hearing after stating in the press that he never heard anything as he was at the other end of the pitch

Good note from this article

The ability for Hilfenhaus to get wickets with the new ball has rarely been in question - he proved this yesterday by claiming Gambhir in the eighth over. The lingering question is whether the swing bowler can remain a threat once the shine disappears from the ball.

Hilfy was meant to bowl the long spell so that we didn't need an all rounder.

Hilf bowls well with the new rock and that's it, he hasn't learnt to reverse it and is a pretty limited bowler.

India in total control. We are getting a lesson in test cricket. If the pitch isnt bowler friendly we struggle. A decent pitch & we can't get 350 terrible.
No, they really aren't. Yes, they've got their noses in front, but they're not in total control. If we weren't creating chances (and didn't bowl no-balls) we'd probably have them 5 or 6 down. The fact we are creating chances gives me reason to think this test is far from over.
