That's another thing I could rant about for hours. How ridiculous is just about everything that's happening in junior cricket?

    agree

I think it goes back to discipline and concentration. For fast bowlers that "effort" delivery they can over stride, Brett Lee was one of the worst offenders. At the same time if you know its going to be effort delivery then you surely start your run up half a stride deeper

Santner batting at 6. NZ's batting depth must be really depleted if the plan is to go with 4 bats, 2 A/R (and I use the term A/R loosely) and a Nicholls wedged between.

Good thing we're playing the Windies.

Santner is not a #6. But neither is Neesham, or de Granhomme, or Anderson, so yeah...our batting class takes a real dive from 5 on, but is probably pretty consistent on down the tail.

Go CDG. He's such a clean hitter of a cricket ball. Bring up a ton son. I'm an unabashed fan of his.

It is incredibly sad in how West Indies cricket has deteriorated to the extent it has. I remember the days when if dominated world cricket. Now that is just a memory.

Whats the chances of a return to those days.

Neesham or Anderson probably ok, but their bowling at test level sucks.

De Grandhomme will be 150kgs after this knock after all the pies he's been served.
    He's eatin' 'em up too.

What was up though with the Windies? They got 3 quickish wickets with the second new pill and then promptly loaded the boundary and got Braithwaite to lob up loopy straight spin. Dumbest stuff I've seen in a number of years. I didn't think I'd see that stuff from a Stuart Law team.

The Windies could have Craig Bellamy as coach and it'd make bugger all difference I reckon.

I grew up thinking WI would always win. Australia would never win in Caribbean.

Since 1995, 22 years, it's just been Callapso cricket and contract squabbles.

Can MMarsh do what old man Colin just did? Maybe long-levers aren't so important?

Think many of us did, and then another Australian domination where it seemed like you would ever falter

Things change - that said, the relative depths the Windies have slumped to is beyond anything I would have expected, even prior to their unbelievable period they had great players - many of the finest batsmen ever, but they simply have scraps now, it's sad

Well done Blundell. You join the long list of Kiwis who made impressive debuts.

Now to just avoid the equally long list of Kiwis who spluttered and deteriorated after making those impressive debuts.
