2 Refs = Most entertaining Origin game for a while

That was the most open game of Origin I've seen in ages. Was helped by playing on a dry track as well.

Wasn't as exciting a finish as there usually is but it was a refreshing change to see a lot of attacking football being played by both teams.

I know the refs made a few wrong calls but overall it was a far better spectacle then in previous years in my opinion. Anyone else agree?

The referees sucked. The first eight penalties of the match weren't even close to being penalties yet were blown anyway. Excessive penalties like this makes it so much more boring IMO.

And I think you're right, the dry track produced a good, open game of footy (for origin). If possible they should consider playing under a roof more often.

Hmm yeah thinking about it now it was probably the dry track more then the refs that made for a good game. I guess we'll have to see after the game on the wet Sydney surface.

Yeah I wasn't a fan of the two referee system, I thought the penalties were far too pedantic and hurt the overall flow of the game.

Glad i wasn't the only one that though most of the penalties were pretty pointless. The tackles they do choose to penalise, are generally no worse then all the other tackles in a game. Then when we had a genuine penalty offence, it went to the wrong team.

The only consistancy in refereeing these days, is that they're inconsistant every week.

Was still an enjoyable game though. Despite the fact i thought QLD got the better of the referee decisions, they were the better team and it didn't effect the result of the game. It was our mistakes and lack of urgency at times that cost us.
