This is my fav 17.
1. Ross
2. Moala
3. Langi
4. Slater
5. King
6. Geyer
7. Orford
8. Kearns
9. Smith
10. Howe
11. Hoffman
12. Kearney
13. Hill

14. Williams
15. Johnson or Kidwell
16. Reynoldson
17. Turner or Robert Tanuilu
How we will go will depend on what injuries come up. Orford and Kearns to me are the guys they need to be healthly all season.
If we finished 5th this season I cant see why we cant go 4th or 3rd next year.
With Slaters first year under his belt, I think he will be a lot more solid next season with his Dfence and other areas of his game he will be working hard on during the offseason. He could prove to be a vital key to our Success next season.

I'd have put Belly in also .

Also Geyer might not stay at 5/8, as they have indicated that Hill is the long term option there.
I for one (especially with our back line depth) would try to fit Geyer a 5/8.
Geyer was very unlucky not to tour with the kangaroo squad.

GO Storm !!!!!

This is off the top of my head what we have to offer.

FULLBACK: Ross, Turner, Slater
WINGERS: King, Moala, Crockett, Cooper, Tadulala
CENTRES: Bell, Slater, Langi, King, Dyer, Kidwell
5/8: Hill, Geyer
HALF: Orford, Turner, McFadden
HOOKER: Smith, Williams, Friend
PROPS: Kearns, Howe, Reynoldson, Chan, Kaufusi, Tanielu
BACK ROW: Kearney, Robinson, Williams, Hoffman, Turner, Hill, Kidwell, Johnson.

And there is Cooper Cronk, who finished the season of
very strongly in the QLD cup. Would fit anywhere into the backline.

There is probably a host of players I've missed so feel free to add.

Anyway, I think we can make a pretty decent team out of all that.

If we could clone Kirk Reynoldson 20 times (you know, in case of injury) then we would be totally unstoppable! But since there is only 1 and will always be only 1, then my team woulod be:

1 Ross - his defense and support play would prove invaluable
2 King
3 Slater
4 Kidwell
5 Langi
6 Geyer
7 Orford
8 Kearns
9 Smith
10 Reynoldson
11 Kidwell
12 Kearney
13 Hill

14 Johnson
15 Howe
16 Robinson
17 Hoffman

hill plays better at lock really cos he doesnt have the pressure of being the 5/8 - geyer does a great job really and i cant really see why he should have to go back!!!

Also Hill at lock gives Geyer and Orford so much more freedom when he is fit and playing well.

hmmm, lets see:

01 - Turner
02 - King
03 - Slater
04 - Bell
05 - Moala
06 - Geyer
07 - Orford
08 - Kearns
09 - Smith
10 - Howe
11 - Reynoldson
12 - Kearney
13 - Hill

14 - Chan
15 - Robinson
16 - Williams
17 - Kidwell

Interesting to note:
1 - Our wing defence, no matter which way you do it, is looking a tad thin for my liking

2 - We must be looking at almost the best forward pack in the NRL. As I recall, we have had a mammoth pack like this before - in 1999. As one of my Bronco-supporting mates once said 'yeah, but who wouldnt win the comp with a pack like they had'

3 - Geyer, Orford and Hill as playmakers? That's going to make a few teams jealous (if they stay fit :?)

4 - As a result of this season, particularly at the start, we have a LOT of depth. I like our chances of being in the second last or even the last week next season :)

5 - I'm feeling optimistic. Is this the first time ever?

I agree with the natural talent that turner possesses and the tough few seasons ross has had I really think it would be a mistake for you guys not to play turner at fullback. He'll need a little time to find his feet in first grade but he will be a superstar.

You guys are very lucky picking up Stevie Turner for 2004.

Being a big Panther fan, I saw a fair bit of him in action for the Cougers in 2003. He didn't get much opportunity in first grade due to a bloke by the name of Rhys Wesser.

Turner has got it all. Pace, step, fend. He is pretty solid in defence and his positional play is first rate. There was talk going around out at Penrith that he has the potential to be the next Lockyer.

Personally I think we should have hung onto him and groomed him for the centres, but alas you guys have got him now.

I think you guys will be a big danger in 2004. You were the only team to beat us convincingly in the 2 competition rounds in 2003. You have picked up a couple of good players for 2004.

Storm were the only side I was really worried about meeting in the semis this year. Lets hope for a Panthers v Storm GF for 2004.
