you could fit all the sharks fans in a phone box, seriously

That wouldn't be too far from the truth. Whilst they may get 9K to a game, less than half of the people there actually care or pay attention to the footy.

Yup but thats only on the family hill, very dissapointing attendance when our team isn't going to bad, the weather was fine and it was the best timeslot . FFS if the weather wasn't bad at Melbourne they would of got more people thru the gates.

9844?

The weather was F**KING PERFECT!

You can't seriously tell me St George Illawarra bought 10,000 fans with them a fortnight ago.

For shame Cronulla.

Hopefully we have three full houses today.

To get almost 10K last night to OP was a good effort IMO. As mentioned it was pissing down pretty much non stop from lunchtime yesterday and i honestly thought we'd be lucky to get 8,000, which in the last two games against Penrith at OP we've drawn less than that. So all in all i didn't think it was a bad fugure. Oh and if anyone who attended found a Storm umbrella it's mine

Perhaps he supports AFL first and RL second. Big deal. The important point is he *does* support RL. Let's not get so up our selves that we turn away fans and potential fans just because they dare to have other passions.

Leigh.

From what youve read in this thread, that assertion is fair enough, but look through this guy's posts - it seems as if he brings up AFL every chance he gets, and if this were a 'sports' forum that would be ok, but as it stands its a RL forum. but even saying that youve got point, and i apologise to CS

cause we aint in colours or wave flags dont mean sh*t. So what if people talk, its a good place to socialise. The crowd was poor, but our averages are still better then some.

Still tickets left for tonights game at Newcastle according to the Knights

Despite speculation to the contrary, Sunday’s Knights / Broncos clash at EnergyAustralia Stadium is NOT A SELL OUT. At 10.00am today 2,000 tickets remained (400 grand stand & 1,600 general admissions).

So if anyone was thinking of going, make sure you still do.

Onto the Cronulla crowd, talk about some serious extremes in crowds, this year out of 4 games, they've had 2 above 17K and 2 below 10K, so there is no doubt that when the Sharks want to draw a crowd they can.

So what happened last night? I honestly think it was due to lack of promotion the game pulled so poorly. Both the Dragons and Souths games had significant amounts of advertising in the lead up to the game and both sides promoted the game to their fans, so people knew it was on.

True both were more 'attractive' games than the clashes against Penrith and the Raiders, but wouldn't logic suggest, you need to push the less attractive fixtures rather than the ones which are likely to sell themselves?

Anynway the Sharks now have three weeks till their next clash which is against the Broncos, plenty of times to start building up interest for it.

Knights should have a 26k sellout this weekend - Joey tribute before the game - game not on tv - Knights a good chance of beating the hated broncos.

Um, the game is actually on tv. 8:30pm on Channel Nine

So after 4 games:
Melbourne v Penrith - 9,909
Cronulla v Canberra - 9,844
Manly v Gold Coast - 16,887
Parramatta v Bulldogs - 18,285

Total: 54,925
Avg: 13,731

We need 41,075 from two games to keep the average above 16K this round...

we will get 25,000+ at newy and cowboys will be between 15-20,000 so that 16k average might be a possibility.
