) that we should be attempting to court the soccer fans into watching league. quite simply, they're everywhere... and you also get all the expats on board too. we don't compete with them directly for crowds. we have nothing to lose and everything to gain by getting soccer fans watching our TV shows, going to our games etc. soccer being popular in australia will not have a negative effect on league. promotion for a single international soccer game will mean squat if a handful of soccer fans enjoy the show, check out a game of league and enjoy it, and adopt our sport as their off season sport.
cross promotion aside - i think it is a decent strategy to get more people watching our game.
