Here's the 2009 Home Jersey:

2009jersey.jpg

The white side panels improve it where the sponsors name is.
Much better than just a white block, it now looks like it all fits well.

Anyone would think Manly have snagged something no one else has got...FFS its just a new sponsorship. Happens every season to one club or another.

All jersey & sponsor news here. Feel free to correct the above.

Christ, how much are these NRL uniforms resembling advertising billboards. With football clubs unable to fund the increasing cost of operations via the traditional channel of league clubs grants and with these costs being grossly dispropotionate to direct revenue the product delivers back in, it wont be long before the NRL regulates every inch of the strip as advertisable. we will see 6, 7, 8, 10, 15, etc different logos on playing strips in the not too distant future. might as well ditch the colours as they wont be seen through all the crap.

Top/bottom/shorts etc have been around for 2-3 maybe even 4 seasons now, they won't be dedicating much if any more space for sponsorships of jerseys. The NRL are keeping the regulations pretty tight.

Regardles... hardly surprises to see a Jets fan whinging about commercialisation of the game given your club didn't survive it at a professional level lol

Pretty tight? The regulations have got to be the most relaxed in the world. American professional sports are criticised for being the most commercialised, yet they dont seem to stoop to the level of the our sports, and the NRL in particular, by whoring the playing strip to corporates in multiples.

The only thing professional about rugby league is that players get paid. Basically, its the top tier of park footy. Administratively, its amateur as they come.

I'm sure you could run it plenty better.

Do you have your agenda-laden rants in bursts or can we take this as a one-off?

Manly looks to have a decent jumper and yeah as others have said the advertisement actually looks matching...almost like in the old days when sponsors actually went to the effort of blending into the jersey.

I agree that NRL clubs should do more to integrate the sponsor with their jersey. The worst examples are some clubs who have a certain colour background for the sponsors' logo on one jersey, then reverse it for the alternate jersey. I don't want to see the players end up resembling NASCAR's!

In the EPL, clubs like Chel$ki, Man City, ManUre, Liverpool etc. are on way bigger deals than any in the NRL, but they at least have managed to give their major sponsor prime position without it cheapening the jersey or looking as if it was pasted on just before the team ran out!

You really are an ingnorant little man.

Really? I've spent the last couple of sessions on this forum seeing ozjet spew forth his self-righteous nonsense about the state of the game from the perspective of someone who doesn't have a team in it. Bitter is the only word.

"In the world"? Get a grip. Go check out some Euro soccer or ice hockey jerseys or any motorsport vehicles. Ads are everywhere in modern professional sport with the exception of the biggest US leagues.
