Old wrinkly face had his usual whinge. Doesn't like it when it's his mob conceding in stoppage time does he?

I know it's not the Premier League, but I think Swansea deserve congratulations on winning the League Cup this morning. They have had a great season and have topped it off by winning their first major trophy.

wigan or norwich to take the last relegation spot. Wigan because they are sh*te but manage to survive right at the end season after season, and Norwich are struggling a bit and from memory, have a difficult draw in.

Don't care a whole lot though, as long as it's not west ham :)

You'll be right with West Ham no doubts :D

Sunderland's only goal scoring threat, Steven Fletcher, is out for season so they might struggle to score.
Personally, I hope Stoke go down.

Man U bring in the experts to solve Old Trafford's 'no atmosphere' problem

05/04/2013 - 18:41:51
Manchester United have been told they only have themselves to blame for the chronic lack of atmosphere at Old Trafford.

Following a request from supporters at a Fans Forum, United have appointed an acoustic engineer to work out why the noise from certain parts of the stadium does not filter across to others.

A sound specialist has already been to one match and is due to attend others before the season comes to an end before offering their advice on the matter.

It is the latest in a series of initiatives the club have undertaken in an attempt to generate more atmosphere inside the 76,000-capacity stadium, so often derided by visiting supporters for its lack of noise.

However, the move has not met with the approval of the Independent Manchester United Supporters’ Association, who have repeatedly campaigned for safe standing areas to be reintroduced and the advent of singing sections.

“For many, many years now, fans have been told to sit down, shut up and taken what they are given,” said an IMUSA spokesman.

“Well now they are sat down, and they have shut up – and the club don’t like it. And as usual, when there are two solutions to a problem, they have gone for the most simple one rather than the best.

“For a start United could look at less aggressive stewarding. Fans are allowed to stand at moments of high excitement. When they are forced to sit – as they often are at Old Trafford – they make less noise.

“They should also look at having a section of the ground where like-minded fans could be in the same place, because we recognise standing is an issue for some and not for others.

“Safe-standing does need to be looked at properly, and in more depth, because if they can have it in Germany, why not England?

“And the club should also turn the tannoy music off before games to give fans a chance to make some noise themselves.”

Ironically, the issue has been raised ahead of Monday’s Manchester derby with City, one of the occasions when increased noise is not necessary.

The criticism of United should be tempered by the knowledge they have tried to relocate away supporters in an attempt to introduce a singing section, only to be thwarted by local authorities, who felt the alternatives created too much potential for trouble.

It has left the club actively investigating alternatives for a suitable ’singing section’ in the knowledge some season ticket holders would have to be relocated.

Discussions are ongoing but with season ticket renewals due to be sent out within the next four or five weeks, United accept it will take a number of years for a complete singing section to be created.

Keane had a point. This is what happens when you fill your stadium with the 'Prawn and Cucumber Sandwich Brigade'.

An interesting theory, except the story is from fans from inside the ground...

They raise some good points, safe standing is needed, especially now the terraces have been cleared of blame at Hillsborough.

Also playing music at a sports ground is the most annoying thing in the world and i used to hate Tina Turner pumping out simply the best at OT.

Poor buggers are probably just tired after the drive up from London...

Only six points between 11th and 18th, with six matches each left to play

Wigan and West Ham both have a game in hand, although they're against Man City and Man U respectively so they don't really count

There are quite a few teams who could still go down

Oh please let one of those be West Ham! West Ham, Reading and QPR in one year

If I recall correctly, west ham dominated your lot at the Boleyn.. A point against manure is not out of the question.

That would indeed be good for the status and image of the Premier League itself

Unfortunately at this stage it looks more likely that they will be polluting the league again next year
