Great game tonight. Poms needed four to win with three overs left but were nine down. They then got a single so only needed two but the pommy bat tried to cut and edged to the keeper who was up at the stumps. Erin Osborne bowled what proved to the last over, just as she did when we beat the poms in the T20 final and it went down to the wire. There is a 17 year old girl in the Aussie side who took three for and she wasn't even meant to play. Looks like another Ellyse Perry in the making. Aussies still unbeaten and on the way to the final and the poms at risk of not making it.

The Girls had their first loss yesterday to the Windies girls. So that's 2 Australian cricket teams who lost to the West Indies on the same day.

West Indies 164 (47 Overs)
Australia 156 (48.2 Overs)

West Indies won by 8 Runs
Full Scorecard

So they'll play the West Indies again in the final

For the Kiwis on here The White Ferns will play England in the 3rd & 4th Place Playoff

Women's World Cup format is a bit different. 2 Groups of 4. Top 3 from each group go through to the Super Sixes Stage while the 4th Place team played off for 7th & 8th

Instead of Semi Finals Super Sixes 1st & 2nd Play The Final 3rd vs 4th play off and 5th and 6th Play off.

Its good to see the woman's game getting more competitive with the likes of Sri Lanka, India and Windies improving vastly and starting to challenge the traditional big 3 of Australia, England and New Zealand.

Good to see the strategic move by losing- we didn't want to face England- they are so dangerous!

So are you suggesting that tanking has infiltrated womens cricket?

Tank is probably the wrong word..."strategic allign your opponent"...it is a terrible format though, whoever decided to not have semis needs to be taken to the gallery!

Aussies 6/199 after 42 overs. fairly disappointing position after we had a horrific batting powerplay. sounds like a good pitch and we need another 30-40 ideally
