2014 Make or Break Year For The JV

I see next year as probably the most crucial year in its short history. At present we are standing on top of the cliff, the club is under massive pressure on all fronts, their are big money problems, boardroom in disarray and of course on field performances are not what they should be.

A winning football team and things can turn around quickly and the reserve can happen with a poorly performing team just as quickly.Like a lot of others Iam so excited about the young talent we have coming through the system, but Iam not so sure our club can survive to many average years while they reach the desired standard. We saw against the chooks how far we are behind the top teams okay last week against the Dragons we showed some promise but it has to be remembered it was the dragons.

A young team can do anything when they are on a roll, but the heads can fall very quickly if they start a loosing streak. The Nrl is full of fickle people, punters, sponsors, media and club officials, they all jump on off the band wagon in the blink of a eye .

I think for the club to survive long term a lot will depend on 2014, if their is a real climb up the ladder, this team could attract a army of support, that of course equates to plenty of dollars for the bottom line. On the other hand if they struggle and its a real possibility, the dollars could dry up and this club could not survive to many more lean years.

Interesting times ahead, I think they have a roster that can make a charge, but they will need plenty of luck and minimal injuries. The way I see it,if they can make the bottom of the eight, avoid to many blow outs and beat a few top four sides in 2014 the future will be very good, but if they stagnate at the bottom or near the bottom of the comp things could get nasty.

Roll on 2014, for once in my life Iam optimistic rather then pessimistic

You don't sound very optimistic.

2014 will just be another year. Everyone hypes up these things like its the end of the world. 2010-11 were the OMG THIS IS EXACTLY LIKE 2005. BENJI MARSHALL IS f**kING AMAZING. Then 2012 OMG WE SUCK, GET RID OF SHEENS. Then 2013 WHAT THE f**k, WE ARE STILL NOT WINNING! SACK THE COACH, SACK THE BOARD, SACK THE CEO AND JUST WRITE THE WHOLE JV UP AS A BUSINESS GOING UNDER.

Sharks have copped more years of nothing and now going through ASADA shit and are still running as a business. They even just got a new sponsor.

2014 will be a better year as we will have structure and a lot more confidence in ourselves. I don't think we should see it as a make or break, it will just be another year for us to improve.

2015-16 will be the real years where we can expect some real premiership chances.

Everyone needs to chill out.

I can see 2014 being the beginning of something brighter, with all these juniors coming up it'll be a similar situation as what the 2003 crop brought i think, solid first graders who will help lift the club off the bottom of the ladder.

Yep. Chillaxe peoples.

The point I was trying to make, was I think the club is at the cross road and desperately need a good year in 2014. I just think financial pressure and boardroom bickering will dominate the place if we have another average year. It was not a hysterical rant,it was calling it the way I see it and yes Iam optimistic that Potter and his roster of players will get them self up around the bottom of the eight in 2014 but I also see the dangers if they fail to deliver again in 2014
