It goes all the way back to the Winfield Cup days. I've always liked the sew on patch in this instance as it is a special game it should have the Grand Final logo sewn on the teams jerseys. Most other sports have it and have for a while.

Pretty slack from the NRL this year. Especially when they are still going to sell Souths Premiership Jerseys with the logo on it.

Coulndt agree more. Love the special patch and its what set the Grand Final jersey apart from others. The NRL would have them made up and send out a limited number to the lucky teams. It would then be the dream of every collector to secure a jersey. The embroidery just doesnt do it for me as much. You see that on jerseys after 50 games in the NRL or any other achievement a player makes.

Lucky enough to have 3 genuine Grand Final patched jerseys in my collection. My favourite scores. Will still try get a match worn 2014 Warriors Grand Final match worn but disappointed it wont have the GF patch...

I understand that (I even have one sewn on my jersey from 2010), just there must be a better way of incorporating it into the jersey. Northern Pride by the look of it made an entirely new kit just so they could have the State Championship logo on the jersey.

I've often thought that a good spot for a few lines of embroidery would be opposite the little patch on the stomach.

There's rarely any design or sponsorship there, it wouldn't look to cluttered and from a fan/collector point of view would look great when framed.

I'm glad they didn't have the stupid big white patch stitched over the top, last years looked awful and really amatuer, they didn't even bother cutting it out. However, I think they should still have something on the jersey to signify it is a grand final jersey, but it should be tasteful.

How long does it take to get a new kit made with a special logo ??

Would 4 weeks be enough ??

If it is, as soon as the top 8 is decided, make GF kits for all 8 teams...

its under 200 jumpers needed to be made... what would it cost $50 k ??? same price as slash

It would depend on the company. ISC & BLK would be able to do it in under a week but it would still be a push and cost alot. Especially when you compare that with the price of a patch.
