Who f**king knows pou, the game hasnt been played yet.

Are you really ready to write him off a week before game 1?

Who's writing him off? Just because he's overrated doesn't mean he's not a first grader.

There are few standout choices for NSW in the backs, so one guy is as good as another. At least he has a combination with Jennings.

Did anyone hear if Hoppa is on standby for game 1? I am sort of summising here but he and Hayne were both missing from an Eels function yesterday and it made me think he was with the team?

Lol. You forgot Williams.

Not a bad showing with 5 Eels juniors in the team.

funny thing about Hodkinson is that he is no better than he was last year when he was not even in the picture, yet his team is now on top of the ladder so he gets a look in

It was a similar situation last year with Maloney. They both aren't stand out players. Both years their teams have been in good form, they play on the left and can kick goals.

I think that's how it goes with most Blues players. When there's no clear standout (i.e. genuine Origin players) then the choice is between the next tier of player ('quality first grader' or similar label) however the perception of which first grader is or isn't in this category comes down to how well his team is playing - players in strong teams get more time and space, and execute more often against teams under pressure. So they get more opportunity to look good.

I guess the $64.000 question is , can Hodkinson lead the team around the park with enough skill to win at least two games? Not holding my breath.......
I do concede though that there is no one else....Pearce hasn't shown that he is any better than a good club player , Wallace was the same .....
I would think Mullen would really be the best option
Hopefully the Bully halves will prove me wrong
Bring back KK just like uncle Wayne did with Alfie Langer!

It's not like the only way to win an origin is for the team to be led around by the halfback

The pack can win the game as can the outside backs

It may well be the nine who controls the game for us

I would say it will most definitely be our 9
