With the NRL side I see a couple of things in the selections.

Potter is yet to decide out of Austin and Anasta who is going to get the gig. I think they will both get game time this weekend and that may just be the deciding factor for round one. I don't see the point of Austin being on the bench otherwise.

Blair might now be seen as a lock. I can live with that if he pulls his finger out. Our front row rotation isn't too bad (when Galloway is back) and if Blair can play big minutes at the level he should at lock, we may just see some value in him. He is bigger this year and as has been pointed out many times lock plays similar to prop.

I'm guessing Thompson is holding a spot until Fulton/Sironen return.

Pottor might have some faith in Lulia based on his time at Bradford. I can live with this decision as well if Lulia plays to his potential. The down side is I don't get to see a flying Koro. Until his handling improves we might not see him in the top side for a while.

Anyone else see it this way (or differently) as well....

I think Blair is only at lock because of Sironen's injury.

In a way, it opens up a spot for Taupau.

I certainly hope Bojangles isn't in the starting 17 this year. f**king muppet.

Potter said on the video Austin and anasta will get equal time on the paddock. He also said ava and buchanan would so I'd expect plenty of the guys from nsw cup/20s to play off the bench in first grade.

Don't know where koro is...

Rubbish playing two 5/8's.
Yes I know it's a trial but I hope this isn't the Potter's bench tactics for the season.

Did the Sharks recruitment manager organise this game? He gets to work out who he's going to poach before the season even starts. Genius

If that's Sharps idea of the NRL side then Wright is the luckiest man in the NRL and Leutele the unlickiest

this match is more like a reunion than a game of footy.

Pleased that Potter found room for Gavet. He will make a very capable trio when he's on the field with Paterson and Tapau especially.
All run hard, hit hard and like an offload or 2.
Will be interesting to see if Austin can replicate his Camden form. I hope so, because he will make a quality attacking halves pairing with Brooks.
I like the look of the team very much. Very keen to see how they go against the Sharkies.

to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if Brooks is rested at halftime and Austin replaces him.

I honestly believe that Potter has decided Anasta will be the five-eighth and he's still unsure whether to throw Brooks in the deep end straight away, or whether he wants to give him a few games in lower grades and then ease him in.

Austen will be insurance and be picked at no14 come round one, he will cover 7 6 9 and 13 and any where else at a pinch.

Anasta will be the no6 regardless of trial form. Sad but true

I reckon you are wrong on both counts.

Potter is fighting for his life, and will be given to about Round 10 to show the goods.

If either of your points are correct, then you may as well fit him up for the coffin now as he is basically committing suicide.

I think the round 1 bench was really thrown off kilter with both Sirro & Halatau injured.

With those two we could basically pinch hit across 3/4 of the spine to cover in game injuries.

Looking forward to heading out Saturday though, will try and catch the Matt's & ball as well

I agree. Simona when fit will play, I was more referring to this weeks trial. Can't wait for Simona to be back.

Austen to cover 13 are you serious. I don't think he made a tackle in the 9's. His shirt grabbing was pathetic.

Lulia, Paterson, Anasta, Thompson, Austin. If these players are in FG we are going to run bottom 4.
