R1 def Manly by 1
R2 def Panthers by 1
R3 def Knights by 8
R4 loss Bulldogs by 28
R5 loss Tits by 2
R6 def Dragons by 4
R7 loss Raiders by 2

Excluding the game against the Bulldogs the average winning/losing margin is 2 points.
The results often decided in the last few minutes.
What does this say about the team and the competition in general?

I think the Storm are hanging in by the skin of their teeth. We will either do very well or very poorly this season.

During the 2011, 2012 and 2013 NRL seasons only on 6 occasions did a team score 20 or more points against Mlb at AAMI Park. 6 times over three years and that's including any semi finals played at AAMI as well.

Already this year the visiting team has score 20 or more points 3 out of the 4 times Mlb have played at home.

There is no doubt Mlb are struggling to defend as well as they have in past seasons due to the changes in the ruck speed and wrestle. They have come back to the pack.

How this will play out for the rest of the season is unclear. However, teams are certainly not as intimidated travelling to AAMI as they may have been in the past.

Agree - by the looks of things they are struggling hard. And with the NRL looking to crack down further it will now come down to which coach can come up with the best tactics to accommodate the ruck. Like Bellamy did some 7-8 years ago he exploited and exposed some things in the ruck that he would then apply to their game to be so successful, and hats off to him. Now the challenge is there for the coach to turn the game again, who knows maybe Bellamy has a plan already and they are putting into training now, with the benefit to come later in the year? Or it could be another coach that has seen it coming and are onto it already. Be interesting the next few weeks.

The refs are speeding the game up a bit. We've got new younger players in the side which can take time to adjust. Also other teams have gotten better with new signings.

IMO Storm's structured plays are not as effective as they were simply because the speed of the ruck is so fast now that there is no time to plan and execute these moves.

The Titans and Knights are scoring a lot off offloads and Storm are going to have to seriously adjust their style to go deep in the finals.

Not so sure about this,I think there's a case there somewhat, I believe the storm are still getting used to life without widdop too, he was seriously just as important to them as possibly anyone. They look to be setting up ok for these plays, I'm not so sure it's the speed of the ruck because the storm love that up tempo style anyhow, this is where they kill teams. I think they are a bit disjointed in their defence which then saps their confidence in attack possibly.

Our issue is pricks not tackling and/or preventing offloads.

Nothing to do with the speed of the ruck.
