Still a few weeks away from the draft and we're all busy doing our research, watching videos, listening to podcasts and getting ready for the big event.

Time for a forum mock draft, concept is simple, first person to jump on can make the pick for the next team, same person can't make two picks in a row.

Please provide a brief reasoning for your pick

Lets aim for 3 rounds, draft order is below, I'll update as we go along

Dead keen on this... ill kick things off with the easy one...

With the first pick in the NFL draft, The Tampa Bay Bucs select...

QB, Florida St - Jameis Winston
Tampa Bay need a QB, Jameis has character concerns but is the best QB in the draft. You just cant pass on a potential franchise QB when you've got the #1 pick. He comes from a Florida college program so the transition should be seamless for the fans and he fits perfectly with what Dirk Koetter wants in his QB.

It just makes too much sense.

With the second pick in the 2015 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans select

hi-res-d93f7a27ad3acfe7c893c2d7e50eb1e3_crop_north.jpg

DT Leonard Williams, USC

Titans will claim that they will take a QB in the hopes of landing a trade but Mettenberger showed enough last year to be given a chance to shine. Williams is the consensus top defensive player in the draft and paired with Jurrell Casey gives the Titans a nice interior DL to build off

i like that pick. Im going to leave it for others to get involved, but i really think Mariota doesnt make a lot of sense for them. And i just struggle to believe they'll draft him. Leonard Williams is a god damn beast. They'd be making a huge mistake passing on him

I agree, I like what I saw of Mettenberger last year, big arm, seemed pretty composed in the pocket, I think he's got nice potential.

Pick 3 the Jacksonville Jaguars take

Florida+v+Tennessee+BphayzDbX88l.jpg

Dante Fowler OLD Florida

The Jaguars are building very nicely and while giving Bortles a WR to play with is tempting, this draft is deep at WR.

Fowler just makes sense here. Big, athletic, great penetration when bullrushing the QB with amazing agility. He will provide a consistent presence off the edge which instantly improves a big need area

I think Fowler makes a lot of sense in that system, Gus Bradley is looking for that 'elephant' rusher in his 4-3 system, Fowler has all the tools to be a great one

With the 4th pick, the Oakland Raiders select

amari-cooper.jpg

WR Amari Cooper, Alabama

This pick makes a lot of sense to me. Carr looks like a great young QB who is suited to a WCO offense, not a big arm but accurate and makes good decisions with the ball. Cooper isn't the most explosive WR available, but he's the most polished route runner and is the perfect kind of WR for a young QB. He will win with quickness and will be open on short to intermediate routes more often than not, I can see him having multiple 100+ catch seasons

With the 5th Pick the Washington Redskins select

Mariota.jpg

QB, Marcus Mariota, Oregon

Washington are essentially done with the RG3 experiment. The only way Snyder lets the coach move him on is with a ready made replacement. Mariota will fit Gruden's system like a glove and give a dependable franchise steering face for the next 5 years minimum

Geez that's an interesting pick, very bold, I'm not sure if I agree given they have RGIII and Cousins still there, be very brave to spend another first round pick on a QB.

This draft just got interesting!

Raiders fan here.... And that pick makes perfect sense to me... It's either Cooper or White and I'm thinking Cooper will be better for Carr...

The only issue I have with what you put up Ab... Derek Carr has an absolute cannon for an arm... He just never got to use it much because the offense was all check downs in to bubble screens and short little hitch routes...

But that's the most exciting thing about Carr... His arm and arm talent are considered very rare....

I figure New GM, Second year coach and a bundle of baggage they sold the farm to get means they take the QB while they occupy this spot and parlay RG3 to someone like the Jets for a second rounder this year and next years first.

If any franchise is going to throw the cat among the pigeons on Draft Day it will be Snyder

Mariota is an interesting pick for the Redskins....

I DO think that RG3's time is up though....

Thanks for that mate, yeah from what I saw I didn't get to see him wing it much, but I was really impressed with his accuracy and decision making. I think Cooper is the perfect fit for him and it's not as though Cooper can't get deep!

Yeah I think Amari Cooper is a far better option for Carr.

I'd happily give up the downfield home run threat that White is for that dependable option that will help Carr keep those chains moving on 3rd down which I think Cooper will be.

With the 5th pick of the 2015 NFL Draft the New York Jets select....

jTCRNgGkxVP5wncefx7_WIhDK-zFx1_A6UBFk6BaZxcZwg5bvwn8WVzxdsJu68H4359jHfzQdrGyHSPhxMZsuad__rLk7E4Skbr8ymi51vcBVkkJYuwasDSgoW99pWXIOPZLLZ9u0l2WQujMJ4ZJfelu_UOCCuWSFzfb7yKjyLWoVpGiOmOGqvgfx1A=w448-h328-nc

Vic Beasley OLB Clemson

With the two QB options now off the board the Jets have to look at there next major area of need which is an edge rusher who will give the Jets athleticism on the outside.

And when your talking athleticism... Can you get anymore athletic than this kid... He's probably a little on the small side for 3-4 OLB... But as he showed in the combine... He has some absolute natural gifts to work with.

I think in Todd Bowles schemes... This kid is going to be an absolute nightmare for QB's.

With the 7th pick of the 2015 NFL Draft the Chicago Bears select

Danny-Shelton-vs-EWU-800x534.jpg

Danny Shelton, NT Washington

I considered WR but feel with the draft being so deep at WR there will be more than adequate talent there in later rounds, I don't feel the same depth is there at the NT position which is why Shelton is the pick.

After hiring defensive minded HC John Fox & former 49ers DC defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, the Bears will be looking for big improvements on that side of the ball.

Shelton is a monster and will be able to consistently draw double teams to free up other members of the Bears front 7 such as new signings Pernell McPhee & Sam Acho to make big plays.

Shelton is a massive space eater who can also put pressure on the quarterback up the middle as he is surprisingly quick and athletic for a nose tackle.

He should be a long term anchor for a three man front.

I'm a little surprised by both picks, even though I'm high on both players, particularly Shelton.

I think Shelton slides as he may be perceived as a two down player
