That would explain why boyds broncos contract is reportedly only 1 mil over 3 years as we are paying a chunk of his salary. I hope the merkin plays even worse for the broncos than he did for us

Yeah, he won't. Can't believe we have to pay a player who wanted to leave. What we get for having the NRL in charge.

Both of them are no longer our problem. Move on. Our club is ours again. This is a reboot. With the NRL underwriting the club for three more years I like our chances of keeping Sione. Strategically they want us to keep our top juniors I believe. Within reason of course. Dave Smith seems to be wanting a return to our roots which I find surprising. I think we are more valuable to them than they first believed and I thank Quayle for that. His decision to sit on our board is enormous. The NRL are not going to let us go back to struggle street.

Wish I could share your optimism, but I have seen nothing to make me do so thus far.

We exist, therefore they are happy. It's quite obvious that the next few years are going to be about blood letting before handing the club over to wests.

Ive been a tad absent from NRL news as of late due to it being the off season but you have got to be fcking kidding me. That spineless shallow pathetic little excuse for a man fcked us over, played shit football for us then bailed when we really needed him and WE are paying HIM money. NO wtf this is a joke. I have lost so much god damn respect for the club over this and all you who sit here and say hey atleast he isnt our problem anymore need to take a good hard look at yourselves!
Are you content sitting there following a mediocare middle of the park team for the rest of your time or until we luck out on another Andrew Johns? The club needs to make our franchise an appealing place for the players to come and that all starts with a tough, winning orientated front office. We whinge and we bitch that we dont get the star players and thats because they see a weak front office that cant even keep their star locals! Who wants to play for that?? Gidley should of said to Boyd either you get nothing and piss off or you stay here and make damn sure you play some good football or we will take you to court for not living up to your side of the contract ( Im assuming this has to be doable if you can clearly show he isnt putting in? ).
Paying Boyd out FMD well they wont be making any of that money back with membership fee's from my family and myself, they dont deserve it.

I understand your sentiments and hope you stick to your guns. Make sure you email the club with your thoughts.

It's hard to comment on the money paid to Boyd when we don't know the exact amount and reasoning behind it. That said we will never know so it's just another sore point for fans. I'm just happy he's moved on and isn't being paid 600K to watch the high ball hit the ground around him among other poor habits that had become ingrained in his game here.

His heart was never in it from the start. He played shit footy until origin each year. The depression issue late this season aside, there were many, many games he could not be bothered putting his body on the line. I suppose many have just decided to take the "let's cut our losses and move on" attitude.

Like you I am absolutely seething that the club seemingly cannot identify and keep the best of a gun jnr crop. How Sione was not signed long term well before he made his first grade debut is beyond me. I hope the club can get its act together, on and off the field, and turn out a team capable of playing decent, consistent footy each week and hopefully a few semis in the coming years.

Jake Finn has signed with the knights.
I wont be surprised at all if he makes his first grade debut this year

Finn was a Knights junior, was he not? I vaguely remember him kicking around when NYC first came in.

Hopefully he's an example of the current junior pathways problems (i.e if you're not ready by the end of under 20's, you're done) - and is a late bloomer. Otherwise, you can't really argue with a depth signing on second tier. Seems fine.

Yep, was a knights junior who had a falling out with smiles went to the dogs, was playing really good for them before he got home sick and decided to come back to newy. Smiles didn't want a bar of him because of their falling out so he signed for wests where he started on the bench before forcing his way into the starting side and winning man-of-the-match in the 2013 and 2014 grand finals. He starred in an Aus schoolboys forward pack that contained the likes of boyd cordner, woods, taumalolo and recent knights' signing jack stockwell.

Stoney has wanted Finn at Newy since 2010 and has finally gotten his wish.
Very interested to see how his second stint at the knights unfolds.

We will soon see if Stone has an eye for talent. Our best bet right now is to give young kids the chance to play first grade and we will get more Jack Stockwell's wanting to play for us. I am still at a loss as to why the Dragons let go of their most promising young front rower when they have a pack which is going to get smashed next season. I mean really dominated. Like us in 2012.

I'll say from a fans perspective it was just another stupid move by the Dragons management.

Letting Stockwell go to sign a fat plodder like Rose was so stupid it really shows how f**ked the Dragons truly are.

I hazard to say McGregor had something to do with it and he is an arrogant merkin.

So all of a sudden our forward stocks are starting to look promising. We won't be firing on all cylinders next season but 2016 could be a good year.

Fingers crossed with Uate, really. It's been so long since we saw what he can do... he'll probably blow us away all over again if he ever does rediscover the old Aku. It'd almost be like getting another marquee player on the books from nowhere.

He definitely needs to enjoy his footy to be at his best, very much a confidence player too.
