I think people underestimate 280 odd as a score these days...it's just that in between total where you're kind of expected to win, but you still need almost a run a ball. Chasing 280 is tough against a good attack

Very small ground though. Also we are in the era of t20 cricket.

We are not out of this but need some special work from our bowlers (in a batting sense)

That's kind of what I mean...it almost puts more pressure on the chase because of the expectation that 280 isn't enough.

If I was an international captain and I was offered 280 every match, I'd take it in a heartbeat. You'll win more than you lose IMO

I have a feeling this game is set up for a great finish.

On a sidenote, one on my mates is a decent sportsman. Played first grade cricket and good level league.

I asked him who was the best sportsman he had seen and he said without even thinking "Pat Cummins"

While i agree with your 2nd point, we can easily get 50 in last 5 overs. Just need to not lose a wicket for a while.

I think our selectors need a real kick up the arse, picking Hazelet was a joke, hadn't' even played for Queensland, you cant treat a national game as a trial match for a development squad

at least Wade's back is f**ked, hopefully Neville gets the call up for India

Couldn't agree more.

Only thing you didnt add is they have sent Maxwell to India as a spinning all rounder. Yet when was the last ball he bowled for Aus in a game. Not against Pakistan or this series.

Darren Lehamn was asked what it would take to win in India and he said reverse swing and patience in batting. Yet selectors pick a spinning squad.

I dont think the Toyman was selected as an all rounder, he hasn't bowled 1 over in the ODI games, and in any case, he doesn't spin the ball

he'd be run fodder for the Indians. I'd like to see Head at 6 I really like this kid, shame he wasn't picked

Head will play Test cricket but with a FC average of 34 he's a way off at the moment

he really does need to mature, still very aggressive batsman and needs better shot selection for mine but he is a talent

They have picked lyon, okeefe, maxwell, agar and swepson as spinners

I am an old school number 11 and i could play most of those guys. Imagine what India will do.

I do like the look of swepson but he is not ready.

agree, Swepson has a great technique but I think he is going as a net bowler, he wont play a test match
