No one worried when Who Let The Dogs Out? was adopted by Canterbury-Bankstown.

Why is it such a big deal the Raiders adopt the Viking clap?

Or do we just want the usual "Panthers clap clap clap, Panthers clap clap clap"
One of the great experiences in Rugby League was to hear this chant for Parra at the old (pre-1982) Cumberland Oval, with stomps instead of claps in its wooden grandstand. No idea how it didn't fall down. If this couldn't motivate a side, I don't think anything could.

Sub 20,000 easy by looks of it. Media will have a field day comparing to GWS yesterday.

Why are you all disappointed. 20k is about expected for these 2 teams
It's embarrassing to see a stadium in Sydney struggling to be half full for an elimination final between 2 Sydney teams. But even more so when 24 hours ago AFL got 60k in the same city.

How can 20k be anything other than a disappointment.

Not surprised, but the crowd is really poor. Should have just played it at pepper.

Were tickets overpriced? I think afl had tickets for only $10, in off chance you couldn't get one free. NRL need to start from scratch with ticketing, reduce prices dramatically and build demand for it again, before gradually increasing.

Yeah I don't get the hate. The crowd love doing it and the kids really get into it. I guess we should all just sit there with our arms folded and only "golf clap" at the appropriate times.

Yeah it's not as original as the James Maloney spirit fingers but each to their own.

I never got the spirit fingers thing. That move is standard fare in college basketball as a means of jinxing the shooter, so always found it strange to do it when it's your own player lining up a kick.

The so called Viking clap is not even originally from Iceland anyway, and literally every soccer chant is just a reworded version of about a dozen church hymns and pop songs. And good thing too because it's the only reason why they all actually sound good.

When you have to invent a completely new song for a huge amount of sports teams you end up with a whole bunch of garbage like 90% of national anthems

The excuses are pathetic too. Dogs fans not showing up because they don't quite like how their team is attacking. Give me a break. Here they are up 6-0 fighting hard in the finals and their fans just can't be bothered.

Meanwhile someone like the knights bring more fans than this every week despite being possibly the worst team in NRL history.

Sydney should be the biggest strength of RL. It's the biggest city in Australia and we're the number 1 game in town by far. Instead though half the time it feels like an anchor.

If 2 Melbourne AFL sides faced in a final you be lucky to see less than 60K regardless of opponents. Meanwhile for us cracking 20K seems an achievement.

Why are you all disappointed. 20k is about expected for these 2 teams

The dogs are one of the biggest teams in Sydney. I don't think it's crazy to think they can bring 20K+ fans to a game. Not that I expected it today but really they should be able to.

There were dirt cheap tickets to be had. Ticket prices in the NRL finals are massively overpriced but if anything this was the game with the cheapest tickets available.

It's a general problem for the NRL but it isn't the reason for this crowd.

20-22k i reckon. Equal split of fans maybe more Panthers.

Yeah thinking around 23-24 with a close to 50/50 split.
