Welcome to the rule book. The precedent has been there for decades. It sets a precedent to 'accidentally' throw it over a player's head, to yourself. It's not that f**king hard to understand

The pass was backwards. The rebound off his other hand was unintentionally propelled forward. How is that so hard to understand? There was no intentional or unintentional forward pass at all.
So he passed it into his own arm now? Then knocked it forward and regathered. You guys are really reaching
Because the rules are pretty clear that defenders don't have to give the attacking player a right to regather. If that is a try, then why isn't the Tackler ever penalised for stopping the attacking player from regathering ?

And the video ref cannot rule on forward passes.
Technology would need to take into account the momentum of each player to work out if the pass was forward relative to the player. I don't know how you'd do that with current technology - maybe hook each player up to extremely accurate GPS tracking devices.Strange how other laws of the rule book get adhered to with the exception most notably of this one.^
It's not as if they actually need a slide rule to figure it out.Other advanced technology is actually here.
Can't wait to see how they attempt to justify that decision.......................

Apparently on field ref said thst to widdop. Sterlo and harrigan said it was bs, didnt happen like that and should have been pulled back.
After passing with one hand, the ball contacted the other hand non-deliberately and went forward. He then caught the ball before it contacted another player or the ground, so it's not a knock on. That is what they ruled.
DCE said whilst it was accidental, he definitely gained an advantage out of it resulting in a try...so should've been disallowed.
Agree with his interpretation.
But anytime you knock the ball on and regather you gain an advantage.DCE said whilst it was accidental, he definitely gained an advantage out of it resulting in a try...so should've been disallowed.

His interpretation is wrong. The only question to ask is was it intentional? If the answer is yes it is no try. If the answer is no it is a try. I don't know how anyone thinks it was deliberate (or that T-Rex is smart enough to think to do it). It was ugly but it is a try under the rules of the game
